Hey pixel artists, Maybe you heard that #pixelart needs to have a limited amount of colors "to be pixel art". Limiting your colors can help tremendously. BUT what you are looking for in pixelart is INTENTION - how you use your pixels. Limited colors alone don't guarantee this.

A chest which I created for the "1480 Vienna Renaissance Room" Trivia: Chests were the most common piece of furniture. It was pretty interesting to learn that cupboards actually developed quite late from chests, which were stacked on top of each other.

Pixel Art exists because of nostalgia is the single biggest and widespread misconception about #pixelart . Pixelartists have their own ideas, values and philosophy about creating their artwork with pixels. The reasoning can be explained completely without it.
