Recruiting observation… Skills that are fundamental but missing in a lot of kids’ games: 🏀 ability to dribble and finish with weak hand 🏀 footwork coming off screens going into shots 🏀 ability to use the correct pivot foot 🏀 making the correct read vs. defense

You guys see how these pros are getting their iso buckets?? 3-4 dribbles max. So unless you’re working on your ball control, there’s no real reason to do moves with 5-8 dribbles and 3 different counters. Be solid with 3-4 dribbles and unstoppable with a couple moves.

This is just my opinion and other college coaches may say otherwise: If you are a HS 2024 and haven't been recruited much by 4-year schools, I would highly recommend considering JUCO. JUCO is a great opportunity to receive scholarships, a college education, and the chance (1/3)

Underrated but absolutely necessary skill: Passing! Great passers can anticipate what’s happening next and when to pass. They also put the ball where their teammates can score or make a play. A caught pass can be a poor pass if a teammate can’t make a play off the catch.

This is a semi-annual reminder that zone only defense is rarely the preferred defense to watch in AAU basketball. Zone does have a time and place. But most of these AAU zones are not very good and are not very good for player development or exposure purposes.
