🚨Alert! Introducing a new approach to hyponatremia 🚨
Toss aside that pesky "hypo-, eu-, hyper-volemic" algorithm framework...
Welcome to "The Pallais Approach "
We are devastated by the sudden loss of 2019 grad Will Shrauner, who was also a member of the
@BUcards
family. We honor his many contributions to the care of patients and his co-residents; we will miss him tremendously.💜
Will
@wshraun
was pure joy. So contagious. So warm. So charismatic. The kind of dude that is great company in an echo reading room AND on a midnight taco bell run after a night out. Always hyping up his friends. Time to honor you buddy. ❤️
So proud of our PD
@DrJoelKatz
who was honored by
@LongwoodSymOrch
this past weekend for his dedication and support of the arts in healthcare. Many alums and program supporters were in attendance including
@rkwadhera
, Dr. Devon Quasha, and
@joefigs2
🥳
This morning, we were devastated to learn of Dr. Farmer's passing. He was a remarkable physician and leader. An alum of our program, he received numerous awards in medicine and humanism, but even more importantly, he was a friend and mentor to many. We will miss him dearly💜
Partners In Health announced that its founder, Dr. Paul Farmer, unexpectedly passed away today in his sleep while in Rwanda.
Dr. Farmer was 62 years old. He is survived by his wife, Didi Bertrand Farmer, and their three children.

I never dreamed I’d have the honor to once again serve as Surgeon General. In this moment of crisis, I’m grateful for the opportunity to help end this pandemic, be a voice for science, and support our nation on its path to rebuilding and healing.
Glowing from Harvard MGR with Dr. Fauci this AM🤩. We are moved & saddened by data on COVID-19 and it's disproportionate effect on non-white pts. We echo Dr. Fauci - now is the time to take action to address these inequities, which are sadly not limited to COVID-19 infection.
Proud to share current PGY3

- ask pt if pain is tolerable or intolerable
- know opioid equivalencies, don't underdose when switching meds
- BOWEL REGIMEN FOR EVERYONE

Our juniors on ambulatory had a great session at the Harvard Art Museum this morning during which they had time to come together as a community to explore the intersection of medicine and humanism - so much fun was had by all who attended 😃
One of the unique aspects of our IM residency program at the Brigham is the opportunity to hone in on an interest through a ‘pathway’. Pathways are dedicated tracks that residents can join in their 2nd yr of residency.
