We do require masks in the pharmacy but have had to stop enforcing it so heavily after staff have been racially verbally and physically abused for asking customers to wear masks.

Had to ring work to tell them I wouldn’t be coming in tomorrow as I tested positive for RSV and am very sick with it. Not one “get well soon” or “are you okay”. Just “well once your 48 hours symptom free you can come back.” You are literally just a number, look after yourself.

Just finished a night shift with only me and 1 other midwife on a full ward. Meaning neither of us could leave the ward for a break as its a requirement to have at least 2 midwives on the ward at all times in case of emergency. We can’t provide proper care in these conditions.

If the HSE want a clue to why all their staff are leaving or burnt out maybe one of them would be that the day you finish a night shift (in the morning) is considered a day off and then you could be rostered for days the following day, people are not machines this takes its toll

Funny how when I went to my GP about my mental health he spent the majority lecturing me about contraception until he actually looked at my file and saw I was a midwife his tone completely changed. It takes 2 seconds to look at who you’re talking to and their history.
