I remember when Fred, Rich, & Crash auditioned at WBCN years ago. I remember thinking that even though they weren’t Boston-area natives, they would absolutely kill if they were hired. And they did. They were just that good. You didn’t need to hear much of them to figure that out.

15 years ago today, I took over the midday shift on @WBCN , where I stayed until the station signed off in 2009. The @billboard chart for that week is a hoot. Playing the buttrock & nu-metal holdovers was a drag, but playing AFI & The Donnas was cool.

Took my kids to @localnatives & @SylvanEsso tonight & they had an absolute blast. Cheaper than a ticket to a big-name pop act & the music has more depth; the experience is richer & just as memorable. Take your kids to see live music. Just be sure to protect their ears.
