We’re joining health partners to ask President Trump to put kids 1st & prohibit all e-cigarette flavors. FDA delays let the tobacco industry target kids with flavors & addict them to e-cigarettes. The president has the power to tell Big Tobacco our kids’ health isn’t for sale.
Great news! The U.S. House just passed The Henrietta Lacks Enhancing Cancer Research Act, a bill aimed at improving access to clinical trials for communities of color and decreasing health disparities.
We’re thrilled the President Biden has committed to a huge investment in the fight against cancer. We urge the administration to both prioritize innovation and sustain robust funding for cancer research that has saved countless lives over the last 50 years.

Supreme Court has upheld the ACA. We’re overjoyed & relieved, like so many cancer patients & survivors, w/the decision to uphold the law. This will

We welcome Dr. Karen E. Knudsen as the new CEO of ACS & ACS CAN. As an NCI-funded researcher and the head of a major cancer research institution, she knows firsthand the critical role gov plays in saving more lives from cancer, and the importance of funding for cancer research.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Karen E. Knudsen as the new CEO of ACS and

A heartbreaking loss of someone so young, especially for kids who got to see a superhero who looked like them for the first time. And a reminder that cancer doesn’t care if you are young or old, a celebrity or not…or if you’re a superhero.
We’ve joined several patient groups in a legal brief to defend protections for people w/pre-ex conditions. An ongoing lawsuit against the ACA could be devastating for people with cancer and other serious health needs.

stand ready to work w/the President & lawmakers to prioritize cancer research funding, prevention, treatment & survivorship to ensure there is equitable access to advances against cancer.
The fight against cancer is personal for me, like it is for so many Americans. And I’m committed to doing everything I can as president to end cancer as we know it. This afternoon, I brought together a bipartisan group of lawmakers to discuss how we can get it done.
We did it! The STAR Act was signed into law late yesterday. The bill will expand research into childhood cancer by studying new and better treatment for children battling cancer.
We applaud the admin’s decision to eliminate menthol in cigarettes and all flavors in cigars. This long-awaited action will curb Big Tobacco’s ability to lure Black communities and youth into a lifetime of tobacco use, which causes 1/3 of cancer deaths.
Thank you! House passed their budget for next year w/an increase in fed cancer research funding, thanks, in part, to your hard work. But it wasn’t quite enough to continue progress for lifesaving treatments & cures. We’ll keep fighting for enough research $$ to save lives.
Leadership Summit and Lobby Day is officially underway! 🙌 Hundreds of ACS CAN volunteers representing congressional districts across the United States arrived in Washington, DC today to meet with their lawmakers and honor those touched by cancer.

Say it loud. Cancer is nonpartisan. Cancer doesn't care what political party you belong to.
But we know finding new treatments and cures for cancer means we need lawmakers to support lifesaving policies that help prevent, treat and find cures for cancer.

@AmerCancerCEO
: We have 3 messages for Congress:

With this action, more lives can be saved from a disease that is estimated to kill more than 609,000 Americans this year:
Raising the age of sale of tobacco from 18 to 21 is one step Congress can take to curb increasing rates of youth tobacco use. ACS CAN supports the Tobacco-Free Youth Act but the bill must remain free of any carveouts at the request of the tobacco industry.

Today the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act was introduced in the Senate!

Finally! We’ve been waiting a long time for this. A federal judge has ordered

Advocacy Awards for their exceptional work to make cancer a national priority! Because of you, we can continue making progress in the fight against this disease:
The decision to abandon an announced plan to clear the market of all flavored e-cigarettes, including menthol, is unconscionable. We once again have a hollowed-out policy that will allow the tobacco industry to continue to attract youth.
The tobacco industry will finally be forced to disclose the truth about its deadly & addictive products directly on cigarette packages when court-ordered “corrective statements” soon begin appearing on cigarette packages
