Yes, development needs to be better, but they also have to draft pitching. For 6 straight drafts, the Sox have waited until at least 40 pitchers have come off the board before taking their first. So this needs to be addressed with the amateur department as well. #RedSox

I'm hoping to clarify what likely happened. The Mets most likely negotiated a contract that includes a much lower salary if he's in the minors, and he agreed to an advance consent to join the minor league club should he clear waivers.

To clarify for those who have wondered: Julio Teheran's $2.5 million contract was non-guaranteed. So he gets a pro-rated portion based on days spent on the roster (four). Thus, the Mets paid him about $54,000. (Still not a bad week of work!)
