Just on a general level, in the Donald Trump era I think that the Republican Party should abandon all talk about family values. Just a suggestion. It doesn't work for me. Thanks.

Futile to make a deal w/ the Freedom Caucus. Now, McCarthy learns what it's like to negotiate with people who have no honor. Now he knows how Dems feel when they negotiate with Republicans.

Make no mistake. Republican leaders know that disgrace and maybe prison await them if they lose the next few elections. They will stop at nothing.
The only thing that Hitler has on these people is that Hitler was smarter than they are. Republican stupidity is our last hope.

If democrats hold the majority, after causing record high inflation and bringing the country to the brink of nuclear war with Russia, it’ll be a victory for the mainstream media, proof that they really do control perceived reality, for a slim majority at least.

Liberals tend to fear dangers that are real (climate change, COVID, etc.) Conservatives tend to fear things that are make-believe (voter fraud, space aliens?).

Let's not miss the point. Republicans expelled their inept Speaker of the House, not b/c he was evil, but b/c he wasn't evil enough to satisfy everyone.

1. The system is clogged up for lack of funding. Plus bizarre procedures, which the bill would streamline.
2. The bill proposed fixes to legal immigration.
Conservatives think everything is free. It isn't. Biden can't just wave a magic wand.

Here's the point: what do you want to cut? Social Security? Medicare? National Defense? Republicans have yet to present a viable cost reduction plan. Haven't even presented it, let alone sold it to the public.

1. Evidence needs to be presented by rules that every lawyer learns the first year of law school.
2. Disclaimers mean almost nothing. You are still required to tell the truth. You can't sign a legal document and then disclaim it and expect anyone w/ a brain to take you seriously

Climate change due to natural causes (solar flares, asteroids, volcanoes, etc.) is real and we can't do a thing about any of it. Such climate change can be incredibly destructive.
Climate change due to burning stuff is human-made and we can control it.
See the difference?

One problem: the thesis behind a center-right party is that there is a voter bloc that wants small government and low taxes but who are not racist. But very few voters fit that profile.
A center-right party has no public appeal.

agree on how to get out of this mess:
The GOP needs to be crushed in 2020 so that a center-right party can arise from the ashes.
America needs a center right party.
Do you remember when you were growing up, do you remember how simple life was, how easy it felt? It was about faith, family, and country. We can have that again, but to do that, we must vote Joe Biden out.

A deep problem with our social justice discourse is that it trains us to interpret every interaction in the worst possible hyper-racialized light. It's anti-mental health, anti-social harmony.

Two bad things happen when we neglect social studies education for decades on end:
1. We get presidents who don't understand the basics of American government.

The current issue w/Republicans is that they don't have an actual program. They are against wokeness and Hunter Biden. OK. But what are they for? No clue.
@garysavage1
Good grief. All we needed was a program of testing, contact tracing, masking, and vaccination. But the conservatives said, "no way!" They said, "public health is tyranny!" "Disease is freedom!" Sick stuff. Literally.
The question I ponder is this: why did so many Trump campaign officials lie about their contacts with Russia if there was nothing to hide, to the extent of going to jail for it?

Plays and movies routinely cast outside of ethnic heritage. Look at all the films that depict Jesus of Nazareth as a tall, pale-skinned, blue-eyed blond. Or Charlton Heston as Moses? Do you gripe about those?
