We'll discuss it more, but yes, that is a wireless induction charger. It is paramount for robotaxi and non-touch charging (the car leaves and returns independently while you are asleep). It is entirely configurable via the mobile app. It only supports newer vehicle iterations.

The largest wave to date of Full Self-Driving V12.4.3 has just gone out within the last twenty minutes via software update 2024.15.15. This wave includes ~1-5% of eligible vehicles. The last wave occurred two days ago. We will post when the next wave goes out to more vehicles.
