Brandon | Thomas and the Railtours guy | Railway Modeler and Enthusiast | Big water balloon filled with high-fructose corn syrup | I might forget your name :P
Hey there! Allow me to introduce myself. My name’s Silver Band I’m an older Thomas & Friends fan with a passion for railway modelling. Here you’ll find pictures and videos from my current fan project “Thomas and the Railtours”, as well as from my HO/OO scale layout.
Hey look, I found a face! Dudley the Vagrant Engine is now complete.
Many thanks to @/Jje09 for creating it and @/ThomasTankMerch for printing it and sending it out to me. And for @/theburiedtruck for creating the guy in the first place!
Say what you will about Sam’s Trains, but to me, having the privilege to being able to run one of Awdry’s original models on your layout is like the fandom equivalent to being knighted.
Recently managed to get myself a rake of the new museum coaches, courtesy of
@bachmanntrains
and
@SodorRyModeler
. All I need now is a tail lamp for the brake coach and I’m golden.

This one I’m not entirely happy with because the paint got a bit messed up, especially on that third section near the cab. Regardless, Neville is another one of those easy to customize characters.
Might as well post this one too. Derek and Bear are probably the most easiest characters to make customs for.
Thank you @/woodenfam1 for supplying me with a face.
The film was amazing! Definitely worth all the wait and hype. And being able to personally thank Britt Allcroft for all she’s done is something I’d thought I’d never do. A round of applause to Carty and the whole Unlikely Fandom crew!

UPDATE on the layout extension.
The main landscaping is finished. I still got a lot more to do detail wise, but it’s coming along a lot quicker than I thought it would.
UPDATE on Layout Extension
I’m writing to you today to proudly say that the layout extension is more or less complete.
The biggest additions to the layout are installed and operational. Minor details might be added here or there to fill out any empty excess space.

🏴 Rapido have announced a newly tooled range of models themed around the children's TV Classic Ivor the Engine! Find out more about this exciting new range:
Ivor the Engine Train Pack: £169.50 (DCC Sound: £259.20)
Rolling Stock Pack: £97.70
I know no one cares what i think... But i'm not really a fan. It looks decent for being modified from an exciting tooling but i think that's my biggest problem. it looks like a normal model with Thomas stuff slapped on (not even fully) and then called it a day.
I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to those who have reached out. You all mean the world to me. Just to let you know, I’m fine. I’ve been well aware of Ghost and True Capitalist Radio for years, so I knew what to expect. I don’t let things like that get me down.
These photos aren’t the best, but I’ve been installing lights on the layout. The lighting system from Woodland Scenics made this process so much easier than I anticipated.

Speaking of PBS Retro, Ketchup TV (also available on the Roku Channel) also airs the UK dub of Thomas. This is from my grandma’s place around the summer of 2022.
While I’m in town, I got to stop by TrainLand today. I even got to meet Ken Jr. in person and he was nice enough to get me some gear. It’s a wonderful store with a HUGE selection! Thank you for having me over!

I’ve made a decision:
Since bro is getting a Bachmann release but he doesn’t have a name, I’ll give him a name.
From now on, he shall be known as…
Del Boy
Don’t ask me why. He just is.
It's amazing what turns up on the stand at a show! 😆
Lots of 5741 fans it seems 😃
Check out our new Pannier, including the inspiration behind 'Montague'.

Side note: This is an apartment complex where people live. I wouldn’t recommend a bunch of people just loitering around to look at street signs. Makes you look kind of sus.
One final thing I got from
@LittleCanada_
finally arrived this week. They have a specialized 360 degree scanner that takes your picture and creates a miniature version of yourself. Now I can live amongst my model railway!
While I was in Canada, I was told about a model exhibition called Little Canada. It’s an amazing display of miniatures, and I wish the team at
@LittleCanada_
with their future projects! I look forward to going back to see their progress.
Hello everyone, Pleased to announce that my Dudley faces are now available for purchase either from
@ThomasTankMerch
or on shapeways.
The faces are designed to fit on the Heljan O2 model and use 8mm eyeballs.
Big Thanks for @/theburiedtruck for allowing me to do this!
Well, I guess that’s it, huh?
As I wait for my delayed flight back home, I want to thank everyone from
@ThomasAndFans
for having me over and for making this weekend one I’ll always remember. From the new friends I’ve made to the old ones I saw again, you guys mean the world to me

Watching The Lion King repeatedly on VHS was one of my earliest Disney memories, and James Earl Jones’ distinctive voice as Mufasa made each viewing so memorable.
RIP
I was digging around in the basement and found these photos. Three are from when my dad and I were at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in 1999, and one from DOWT in Strasburg in 2000
IMO, it's the fact that thomas fans always have to shove thomas into any other train related thing they see. It's like I show them a picture of a C&O Allegheny, and they just go, "OH WOWIE!!! IT'S SAM!!!". It feels like they can't actually appreciate real rail history because-
You may have noticed that I’ve always had a portrait of The Queen over my layout. I’ve always planned to have a mourning ribbon added to the frame should she pass away.
I knew that the time would come, but it still feels surreal.
Sending love to all my friends in the UK 🇬🇧 🤝🇺🇸
It’s such a relief to finally see this on the layout.
Major props to my friend
@BgmReviews
on this! He supplied me with a sound decoder and speaker, and helped me with installing it. Make sure to give him some love!
This weekend has been absolutely amazing! Thank you to The Platelayers Society for putting on a great show.
And thank you
@TheMilanTooner
and
@FoduckVigilant
for getting together with me this weekend. Prepare for a small photo dump.
