Finance Majors: Consider adding an Accounting Degree. Unless you plan on moving to NYC, Chicago, Etc Accounting will give you more options in mid-market cities. Lack of options often send Finance majors to Northwestern Mutual to sell insurance.

If you’re paying 3% raises to your best employees, you’re just asking for them to be recruited out. They can get 10% to 20% raises if they leave. Sometimes more. Minimal raises, several years in a row, creates a big gap between what you’re paying & what they can get elsewhere.
