There's this one cut in Millennium Actress animated by Tetsuya Nishio where he has the camera on 2s (12fps instead of the standard 24) to simulate the shaky cam which filmmaker Kinji Fukasaku often used in his Samurai movies, and it's easily one of my favorite references ever.

I never skip OPs to begin with but Pkmn Sun and Moon's is actually un-skippable. Yoshimichi Kameda's (祥倫亀田) work is pure, unbridled, kinetic fun. Theres like 7 quick cuts here in a mere 6 seconds! Not even mad the 2nd OP is mostly just reused footage, if it means more of this

What made their work on Bocchi special was the use of CG reference at the layout phase to represent the performance more accurately Myoun's animation on Bocchi might've been too close to the CG -it does feel stiff- but their work on Frieren shows how far they've progressed
