The sapphire testnet hasn’t had a major issue (20+ epochs since finality) in nearly 30 days. We’ve passed over half a million slots, the average balance is finally postive despite inactive valdiators, and Prysm keeps getting faster and more resilient every day. #ETH2 is coming.

@koeppelmann We suspect this is caused by the implementation of Proposer Boost fork choice has not fully rolled out to the network. This reorg is not an indicator of a flawed fork choice, but a non-trivial segmentation of updated vs out of date client software.

1 year ago, we forked from go-ethereum into a clean slate. When we started Prysm, it was a subdirectory in a fork of geth. As time went on, we realized Prysm would be very difficult to merge back into geth so we forked! Look at the last 20mo of merged PRs building ETH 2 🏗️⛓️

The inflow of validators greatly exceeds the "mass exodus" of validators that some people claimed would immediately follow the Capella/Shanghai upgrade. The activation queue is over two weeks long while the exit queue is less than 4 days.

Even with recent grants, it’s hardly enough to take the whole team full time with significant pay cuts and it’s certainly not even for us to scale the team to where we need it.

Reminder: Depositing ETH into the ETH2 deposit contract is effectively a burn of the funds in exchange for ETH on ETH2. ETH on ETH2 will become the only ETH in phase 1.5 when ETH1.x and ETH2 merge. Call this process a burn, transfer, or something else, but that's how it works.
