To stand with the world in strongly condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the works of Pink Floyd, from 1987 onwards, and all of David Gilmour's solo recordings are being removed from all digital music providers in Russia and Belarus from today.
1/3 Tonight at midnight, Pink Floyd will release a new song, 'Hey Hey Rise Up', which sees David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined by Guy Pratt & Nitin Sawhney, with an extraordinary vocal by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox.

Today we mark the UK release of The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1973. Most critics hailed the album; the UK's Sounds said that the album was "unreservedly recommended...it features Pink Floyd's best playing and composing. The effects add to the music without a trace of gimmickry".
Today in 1994, The Division Bell was released. Author Douglas Adams suggested the title after reading the lyrics, in exchange for a donation to a charity of his choice. Later that year he got the opportunity to play guitar with the band during one of their Earls Court concerts.
Today we mark the 1975 release of Wish You Were Here, the cover imagery representing absence in a variety of ways. Recordings for the album began as early as January 1974, with the majority being done during the first part of the following year...

Today in 1987, Pink Floyd released A Momentary Lapse Of Reason in the UK. Shooting the album cover involved dragging 700 hospital beds onto a beach in Devon. Rain interrupted the shoot and they had to repeat the exercise two weeks later...
It's one year since Russia invaded Ukraine. Our thoughts remain with the brave and resilient people of Ukraine, coping as best they can with the awful situation. All proceeds from Hey Hey Rise Up, and associated merchandise, helps those in need in Ukraine.
