@MMJDanM @CanadianxTC @MMJDanM what is your opinion on Kimetsu no Yaiba? The official logo is Demon Slayer in giant font but Kimetsu no Yaiba is always included in much smaller font below it. I use demon slayer when talking to casual viewers but still use KnY or Kimetsu with my closer weeb friends

It doesn't matter if the CEO is American. ByteDance the parent company which owns Tik Tok and Douyin will remain in China. Tik tok's is a company under the ByteDance umbrella.

@MMJDanM @CanadianxTC Valid but the point is that it’s an exception to your Attack on Titan example. KnY is still in every localized logo in the west with the Japanese logo literally just being “Kimetsu no Yaiba” or 鬼滅の刃 and no “demon slayer” in sight. It doesn’t even really translate to that.

@knyesta @Onlyfact_s It’s not so straightforward. I followed the rankings every week since it started as I’m one of the few that read the manga week to week. It def struggled in 2016, it’s first year but became more popular around 2017 and quite popular in 2018-2019. And in Japan. Not the west.

@knyesta @AcePortgazd I guess what I’m trying to say to you is. It was popular before the anime (in Japan mainly and not the west) but it was not popular from the start (2016). It really start doing genuinely well around mid 2017 after chapter 54 or so when the Mugen Train Manga arc started.

I didn't expect that flashback to go on for so long (could have been shorter) but all in all, it played like I envisioned it. It's too bad that Nezuko's screen time gets utterly shafted after this as a character. She was under-used in the final battle #kimetsunoyaiba #鬼滅の刃

I still remember back in summer 2018, most people called it Kimetsu no Yaiba or just Kimetsu. @YonkouProd announced the anime on his twt and most people’s reactions were “what manga?”

@fan_of_luigi I just feel bad for Karl and Muta. There was this anime youtuber I follow called Bonsai Pop who indirectly attributed them of targeting The Completionist due to his race, just because of a few toxic comments that had absolutely nothing to do with the accusations.

@fan_of_luigi Karl is ticked off and rightfully so. Seemingly Everyone on twitter acted as if the completionist "brought receipts." These receipts disproved none of the allegations. He resorted to manipulating emotions and even admitted to using bits/superchat money to pay for his own event.

@MMJDanM @CanadianxTC All I’m saying is while I feel it’s less valid to say Shingeki no Kyojin due to them pushing the English title hard. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is an outlier with them clearing wanting Japanese included in the localization. People still use KnY as an abbreviation as well

I wonder how fast they're going to go through this arc. It's pretty short compared to previous ones if you cut out the fights. Show more of the district and the Oirans. Focus more on atmosphere and less on fights.

@mtisuris I would not call it bad. It was wholesome. But I also felt that it was rushed and DKT Tanjiro as a plot device, was not executed as well as it could have been. Nezuko didn’t get to do much and a lot of the Hashira could have been developed more. Don’t @ me. It’s just my opinion.

I actually disagree with you the sunrise countdown arc due to the divisiveness over Muzan’s final fight. The final Tanjiro twist was also divisive as well as it being a bit rushed.

That is a long time. Hope they were working on other stuff concurrently with different teams since 8 episodes of a training arc is not that much for 2 years. Most of the work probably went solely into that last episode. #KimetsuNoyaiba #DemonSlayer
