Two incredible displays of creativity and stickhandling by Morgan Frost ( #LetsGoFlyers ). First, he heel drags between the legs. Can't say I've seen that in the OHL before. Second, fake between the legs shot to backhand shot. Great save by Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, too.

Connor Bedard leads the tournament in expected goals per 60 by a large margin, and he's also setting up the most chances. Doing both is insane, but being the top by such margins doesn't seem real. I didn't think 3.5 xG/60 in a 50-minute sample was even possible, let alone 4.

On March 2nd, Leon Draisaitl scored the two-timer. Four days later, Prince Albert (WHL) ran the play on their PP, and Brayden Watts scored with it. Cool to see how quickly new/unique plays appear across various levels of hockey.

Samuel Honzek is one of the #2023NHLDraft 's most exciting upside bets, combining open-ice speed and skill with playmaking off the boards. He finished 4th among WHL draft eligibles in even-strength points per 60, beating out Yager, Danielson, Heidt, Ziemmer, Sawchyn, and more.

Matthew Mania breaking ankles. One of the #2023NHLDraft 's most exciting players. Few players squeeze as much value out of each puck touch. Patient, but plays fast. Highly creative with the skill and vision to match.

Alexander Romanov (Habs) has been even more physical in recent weeks than usual. He's really aggressive, always throwing a hip here or a shoulder there to disrupt the attacker. But rarely do I think he's reckless; most of his contact is clean and for recovering possession.

Tory Pitner, Colorado Avalanche prospect, is a very detailed, determined defender. Here’s how he compares to other USHL/CHL D in the draft: • Slot Protection: 1st • DZ Breakups: 1st • Deflected & Blocked Shots: 2nd • Slot Pass Interceptions: 2nd • Rush Breakups: 7th

Tarin Smith to Anaheim. Highly skilled blue-liner with maybe the best D highlight reel in the draft. Flashy moves to get off the point, but just as dangerous up top where he shifts the defence to open shooting and passing lanes. Defence and breakouts improved throughout season.

Here's Nick Suzuki's ( #Habs ) candidate for almost goal of the year from January. He turns a bobbled puck into a deke around a defender, goes skate to stick to dangle another, and hits the outside of the post. All with speed. 🎥: @RTVGuelph
