Lovely story. @peterhickman60 tells me that when he was 16 he was with ACU Academy and his Donington GP weekend in 2003 was spent cleaning our fairings on my KRV3 &KRV5. Kenny asked him was it him that chipped the fuel tank. 🤣

The day Jerry Burgess told me I could have 3 laps rather than the usual 2 for the other journalists. 5 laps later the Honda hierarchy were out on the track trying to flag me down. I got within 1 second of Micks best lap. They wouldn’t let me test the 250 after that.. 🤷🏻‍♂️😬

I remember I stood up and said hopefully Zarco doesn’t bow out of MGP and that Avintia Ducati give him a full time ride in 2020. I got trolled and told he was useless after his spell with KTM and 3 rides with Honda, apparently he’d no chance. Nice one @pramacracing and Johann.

THIS is still to me the most iconic photo ever taken on a public closed road. I saw it every day when I was visiting the mechanical engineering department at Queens University Belfast. It hung in the department 6ft tall. Ray, Humble and friendly built my bikes, and I’m in awe.

This is a rule, it’s a silly one that we’d all like to see removed. This penalty ruined the best race of the year. Toprak is fully committed and has a rear slide which loses time and just the rear tyre steps off the kerb and he’s penalised. Just paint the green blue.

What a waste of time, at 30 mph a bikes RPM is about 1500 - 1600 in 3rd, at 20 MPH you most likely switch back to 2nd so RPM increases to about 2000, increasing pollution. In a car you’ll change back a gear and same thing occurs. 😫

Very confused as to how Cal Cruchlow got a ride through @MotoGP today does not make any sense, greatest respect to Freddie Spencer in his new role but to end a riders championship assault with a poor judgement can’t be repaired. EVEN if Cal jumped the penalty is ridiculous!

The news of Davy had filtered through the paddock before our race. A true gentleman who went out of his way on my first night on track to help me out. Davy was a stalwart of Irish road racing with a proper bubbly character. You will be missed mate. x
