Alright, after much research… here is every Droideka scene ever, and in chronological order (most in video format but some in gif format as well; also including video game cutscenes)
The Phantom Menace:
I have a strong internal fear that Lucasfilm will never be able to reach this level of design creativity/quality and intricacy ever again in a live-action medium
Even better realizing why Qui-gon and Anakin were even running in the first place with this deleted scene (somehow never seen it til now lol)
Also, is it just me or does the probe droid make the destroyed Lego battle droid sound effect? 😭
Still geeking at how Maul didn’t know who anakin was or his importance and just routinely decided to try and run a 9 year old over with a speeder going 85 mph lmfao
I don’t like how the legacy of every single character of the OT trio was one of failure in the sequel trilogy.
Han and Leia = terrible parents and were hardly there for Ben; Luke = terrible uncle and also wasn’t there for Ben even tho he partially raised him at his Jedi Academy
Now that’s not to say there haven’t been any cool or at least decent new designs in the live-action content; albeit 90% of the designs I like are just the trooper variants and starships/fighters and so that isn’t saying much, but at least they still have the touch there
I have a strong internal fear that Lucasfilm will never be able to reach this level of design creativity/quality and intricacy ever again in a live-action medium
Like, nothing from the past years has really surprised me and/or impressed me from a quality and design standpoint.
Take the Droidekas for example, they curl into a wheel to get around faster, they have twin blaster cannons in the place of arms, personal shield generators even
Like, the level of detail on them and how they work just in the films themselves is insane. Just as another example, the little plates that flip open when they uncurl, I always figured that that is what triggered their shield generators even before reading it in the visual dicti-
Okay but like… who dis?
Timeline wise, would this not be Plagueis? (Ik it looks like a human hand tho) but like, multiple Sith Lords within this timeframe if not? Or his master Tenebrous?
Or perhaps, one of Plagueis’ apprentices before Palpatine? He seems too powerful to jus
Hell, even the way they took classic and popular designs like Slave 1 and literally made the ship ten times more iconic with the addition of everything from the rapid fire laser cannons, concussion missiles, and ofc the siesmic charges with the most satisfying sound effects ever
Reminder that Resistance cooked with almost every new design that was introduced… somehow, they cooked up more peak designs here that seem far more appropriate for a sequel trilogy era over the actual trilogy it was accompanied with lol
It’s just how detailed they made these designs and how they actually show each and every one of their unique features and continued to make additions to them later on.
Things like AOTC showing the Trade Federation core ships and how they turn into the Lukrehulks-
Literally every vehicle present at the Battle of Geonosis is peak. LAAT gunships and their capabilities as a troop transport and effective military support ship with its endless arsenal of weapons
I’m curious if, in a way, Dooku actually meant this deep down, if he had any goodness left. Like, if he got Obi-Wan on his side and turned him against the council… would it be possible that Dooku would utilize him to take out Palpatine for the greater good?
Everything has its own unique design and functions, it’s not like just trooper variants with a repeating blaster and backpack or another with a flamethrower.
Rather, we had the likes of B2 SBD with a built-in wrist blaster and that can be swapped out with other weaponry, or the
Or the Vulture droids and Tri droids that were operated by droid brains, and the former could act as a starfighter and ground assault unit; they had an array or weapons from multiple laser cannons and missiles, specifically discord missiles in each wing on the Vulture
in the visual dictionaries. It’s just the fact that they took the time animate that detail and made sure that the plates fold out before or as their shields go up, just amazing.
Also thhr core ship Grievous has installed in the burrowed out cities of Utupau, and how it’s shown to be all opened up which wasn’t seen before.
(Not to mention how intricate Dooku’s Solar Sailor is in its few seconds of screen time)
@BromTitus
Would be cool if she eventually gets to the point where she abandons her Lightsabers completely, and just relies on protection from the Force; like Master Fay from Legends
Discord missiles becoming a recurring aspect of the CIS droids seen in TCW; even showing how those missiles work when they explode and all the Pistodekas (Buzz droids) are shot out.
The HMP droid gunship is given quite a bit more detail in TCW too, showing it as a droid carrier

@Smith79Neil
I mean… they did it once with Tarkin and Leia in Rouge One… that’s it. Luke in the Mandalorian doesn’t count since Mark Hamill is still alive and gave them the permission to use his face still
Do any of you guys find that your likes disappear from older posts? Like, is that a normal thing to happen on here cause I’ve never really realized it.
Like this post shows I still retweeted it but my like is gone, and I think I’ve re-liked it a few times now lol
First Order technology is really weird/inconsistent tbh lol
They’re like, “let’s have bigger badder destructive planet killing weapons!” and then “Hyperspace tracking!” but then still go with the same TIE design that isn’t really any better than it’s Imperial predecessor
@sopadepanda321
Luthen’s Fondor Haulcraft ship really surprised me a lot. One of the better ship designs of late, and even better we got to see a taste of its weapons package and inner workings!
@StarCouncils
Well considering it’s the episode Anakin is set to appear in… I’m wondering if Anakin basically like shows Ahsoka a Force vision showing that it wouldn’t have made any difference if it was her in Obi-Wan’s place in that confrontation. Trying to help her let go of her grief
@sw_tweets
Would’ve been horrible if they did it that way. However, he should’ve been included regardless (idk why they scrapped the idea completely) but just as plain old Anakin… like how he appeared in ROTJ
@DakDimensions
I thought the features looked male tbh.
Maybe Petro? Looks like he has a darker skin tone, and the hair and facial features kinda remind me of him

@DiscussingFilm
Could even be some thing concocted by Morgan with her magicks tbh. He disappeared in like a green cloud… kinda like when Savage died in TCW somewhat
Yknow who needs to be made canon again, guys? Charal
She slayed so hard in that outfit. And her technically being the first onscreen Nightsister… like I mean
@AGuyWhoLovesSt1
Nah.
They should’ve let Kylo shine as the main antagonist instead of constantly being controlled by someone, like how the DOTF version of episode 9 would’ve had him be like
So I was looking up Droidekas, right? But I was graced with new lore and that’s the fact that they’ve been around for over 25,000 years and were constructed by Huyang… 😱😱😱
Thanks for this new lore AI google bot, so very reliable! 😀
Now the droids that the First Order does employ the use of in their military (most of which came from the Resistance series) and they were like new Probe droid and KX-Series security droid variants; but I feel that the First Order, because it was not as widespread as its predece-
I think it would have been really cool if the First Order incorporated more droids into their military force tbh. I found it kinda weird that they as a faction seemed to employ the use of the droids even less than the Empire.
The Empire was galaxy wide, it had the funding it n-
The Imperial Zeta-class heavy cargo shuttle is definitely my favorite newer ship design from Rogue One tho, looks a lot like a sea turtle lol
U-Wing is neat too
Scarif in general too is such a vibe and easily my new favorite planet biome alongside Crait
@cherismomish
@GalacticaDrama1
Actually does exist in canon and Legends. Agen Kolar’s saber contains two crystals, one which emits and green blade (his crystal) and the second which belongs to his fallen Padawan) I only know this cause I have the Lightsaber guide book that features this information lol
@Lilfellow25
With all the recent surge of hate against this show, the only criticism I’ve seen so far that i actually agreed with is that the lightsabers don’t flash around a little “light trail” when you swing them. Otherwise, (and while I don’t really like grey planets and stuff) it doesn’t
@N8Mess
That Rebels is an amazing series… well, at least that’s how it felt having that opinion and sharing it when I was on the Battlefront 2 community forums anyways lol

@HoesLuvTravis
I have an IPhone, but let’s be honest… Android has more usefulness than IPhones do. I’ve never seen any work or company phone that’s an IPhone, they’re always androids because android has access to certain apps and shit that IPhone doesn’t have.
@Plausvel3
@MaceAhWindu
Cruz criticized the character of Rey for being this “emotionally tortured Jedi” or something like that, and this was how she fired back at him; she’s referring to him leaving the state of Texas for vacation when that ice storm hit a while back
@jonnkenobi
Ikr? Lucasfilm really needs to take their time if they’re really gonna be cooking not one but two brand new eras at once (the New Jedi order and Dawn of the Jedi films)
