RIP Chris Barlow 1991-2023
We are devastated that such an integral part of Marple Cricket Club has gone so soon.
Fantastic on the field, brilliant off the field - Chris was someone who made Marple CC better in every way.
In recognition of 50+ years loyal service being our groundsman, we spent the evening celebrating Michael Hibbert and have renamed our ground in his honour 🐻
Our teams for this week in honour and tribute to
@ChrisBarloww
who will be a fantastic 12th man for all sides
Match balls sponsored by Chris’s friends.
🏏
We’re all delighted to see Sophie, who’s been playing in our Juniors since she was 9, getting a senior hatrick today (all clean bowled) - much deserved for her efforts & commitment to the club 👏🏼
A relief for bowlers all over Cheshire.....Yesterday’s 2nd XI game marked the retirement of club legend, Garry Cash. With runs said to be in excess of 20,000 it’s fair to say the
@cheshire_ccl
may never see the like again. Happy retirement,
@garryncash
!
The Barlow family would like to secure a bench to commemorate the late Chris Barlow.
We would love to accommodate a bench on our grounds and we are working with the family to determine additional ways we can pay tribute to a great man.
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Club President, Ernest Goulding.
Our flag will fly at half mast and our thoughts now are with Ernie’s family and friends.
A passionate supporter of the club at all levels, Ernie made a huge impression on us all.
We are delighted to announce the signing of Lancashire CCC all rounder
@lamby236
for the 2019 season. Everybody at club is looking forward to seeing Danny in a Marple shirt this summer!
Our new score hut commemorating club legend Ernie Goulding is complete and looking magnificent.
Well done to everyone involved in this project that leaves a lasting legacy to a great man.
A poignant day at MCC.
Today our flag flies at half mast as we pay our respects to a stalwart of local cricket, Stan Davies.
We also welcomed the family of our late president, Ernest Goulding, to add some of Ernie’s ashes to the foundations of the new score hut.
We’ve given our nets a good freshen up with brand new mats!
We’ve also extended the bowlers’ run ups to avoid slippages...
A great addition to our facilities for all our members!
Get yourselves down to trainings - every Tuesday and Thursday from 5.30pm! 🏏
