Just attended a talk with Shaykh Hasan Ali at our masjid and he highlighted a common issue within the Bengali community.
“Manchay Kitha Khoybo” - what will others say.
Too focused on what others will think and not what Allah wants from us.
Real ones remember building a 'fitness team' and benching your main team for a game because you couldn't afford to spend 1.5k on a squad fitness after every game 🤣😭
When there’s a wedding, one sister occupies the living room for makeup, another in her bedroom and another room for saree fittings by mum.
Meanwhile, I’m walking around with a cuppa and got no where to sit other than the stairs 😭😂.
FYI, the house is a replica of our home. We bought the house from HobbyCraft and the rest was a family effort. Even the red of the car, was the actual touch up paint I had 😬
I showed this tweet to my friend and after cursing me for throwing a new idea a couple days before the big day, he managed to pull it off!
AllahumaBarik.
Sister made Ramadan journals and produced for under £2. Pages created on PowerPoint as slides. AllahumaBarik Laha. A great idea for family, friends and charity.
I bought books for a fellow uni student because he had no money. His family gave my sister discounted wedding services and reminded me of this 4 years later 😳❤️
These Bengali wedding traditions are really getting to me now! I have to take 5 khatols, 6 boxes of mango, boxes of lychee and watermelons?!?!?! Wtf?!?!!
My mate had an entire road trip across Europe planned and it got cut short due to Covid and travel restrictions. I mean look at the effort he put in 😭.
Some Cafes/food places to try out if you have the opportunity visit Makkah/Madinah. Busy after salah times but was a nice experience. 🧵
📍Cafe Moment, Makkah- French toast, tea, coffees and a brilliant mixed breakfast with lots a dipping flatbread overlooking the haram.
I had this tea in Turkey that is basically drinkable vix (Vapor rub). I asked my friend to pick up three packs for me to help my dad for chest. Didn’t even hesitate. Nothing but love for the friends who never pull an excuse. If they can, they will ❤️❤️.
Astagfirullah. I’ve just seen a video from a Birmingham cemetery where brothers found a hole dug under a grave. In the hole was a bottle full of thabiz and scribbles!
The amount of cowboy builders around, registered or not, the customer is right in this instance. He called you twice, whilst he still owed you £5k and you ignored him?
Fix the situation and you get paid, simple.
July 23 - My sister’s graduation. We saw how visibly upset my sister was last year so we made it our objective to do something special for her. I made a little DIY ticket and Alhamdulillah, it was a great surprise ❤️.
Check this idea I’m implementing as a gift for my twin cousins who just did their GCSEs.
Once they return from holiday, I’m taking both of them, along with my little sister, to Hobbycraft. I’m going to give £25pp and 15 mins to fill their baskets.
Supermarket sweep style 🤣
Mum calling my sister and cousin down to have soi fita (rice dumplings): “ey niseh ow fita khaithay”
Me from my room: “zutha thi na lati”
Bangla double meanings are bantz 🤣
My cousin showed me some TikTok and asked if I could make it myself ✊🏽. Always good to challenge family to try themselves before splurging!Alhamdulillah.
Me and a friend got bumped to business class on our return Alhamdulillah. It’s funny how we were both joking about it during the trip and we actually got it 😂.
