This might be a hot take.
It’s okay to stop being friends with people. It’s okay to not want to be friends with someone. It’s okay to be picky about the people you keep close. It’s okay to find people that meet your needs instead of forcing your needs on people.
The term “friend” is being misused in the VTuber community. Let’s be honest, when y’all are asking for more “friends” you really want more followers/mutuals and collabs, your main goal isn’t human connection.
How many of you genuinely want new friends, clout aside?
#vtuber
I was talking about this yesterday with a coworker whose male friend fell in love with her.
Most men don’t receive enough affection throughout their lives. When they find a girl who shows them affection, shows them they’re happy to be in their lives, even just as friends, then a
Normalize men being literally "just friends" with women.
I'm so f*cking tired of ancient societal constructs saying that this isn't possible.
Like bro, I'm not trying to steal your girl, I'm an introvert coming out of his shell just trying to make friends 😔
A message to all minors who interact with 18+ content creators:
This shit isn’t TV. It’s interactive. Finding out we’ve been interacting with underage people is uncomfy af. For your safety and for ours, think twice before breaking our community rules and interacting with us.
Twitch mods are underpraised, underrated, and underappreciated. They do so much work for NO pay and are often not thanked for the hours they put in. HUGE shoutouts to all the moderators out there putting in the work for their streamers.
tfw you think you're friends with someone, stop by their stream and they seem happy to see you, then they block you on twitter and ban you from their chat... the fuck did I do?
If I hit you up…
I’m prolly not looking to collab. I don’t want your clout, I’ll earn my own. If I hit you up it’s purely because I want to talk to you, because I think you’re interesting. I have friends of many sizes. Numbers won’t keep me from talking if I think you’re cool.
My biggest fear is finding out that my friendships and relationships are fake, that they didn’t care about me the whole time, or that I’ve been lied to in a serious way. With that being said, I’m so grateful to the people in my life who are honest, reassuring, and affectionate.
I purposely ignore some chat messages that are clearly meant to get my attention, and I don’t feel bad about it. But be honest. If you’re spamming my lurk command every time you leave for two minutes, or you’re talking about random shit from your life that nobody asked about 1/3
Creators don't ignore you to be mean or because we think we're above you. We set boundaries so we can keep a bit of of mental health. If we don't answer right away, or at all, please don't take it personally, because we'd probably explode from stress if we answered everything.
Listen, many of us VTubers have some sort of anxiety/depression/trauma going on. So why do so many of y'all play games? We need more people to say what they want clearly, even if it sucks, because too many people get stuck imagining the worst case scenario. Be honest with them.
This advice isn’t the best necessarily. True, sticking with one or two games might help you grow a bit faster, but you’ll have a more shallow community. Twitch has no discovery anyways so might as well do what you love so you don’t start to hate streaming or get burnt out.
✨Small Streaming tip✨
When you initially start/new to streaming, NEVER EVER just stream whichever game you feel like.
You need to have a MAIN game and a SECONDARY game that is popular with high viewership, that will help you to reach out to more viewers.
Even if there is only
I want my real friends to know I'll never be mad at you if we disagree about something. I WANT people in my life who will disagree with me. I don't want an echo chamber, I want people who can talk like adults about stuff, then go back to being homies after. How else will we grow?
I don't understand the part of vtuber culture where people try to force care onto others, like "did you eat today" and "make sure to drink water" etc etc as if we're not all adults who can take care of ourselves
Struggling with Twitter?🤔🤔
I had a friend ask for help with Twitter. Here are some tips I’ve picked up that have clearly been working for me. Maybe they can work for you too. Good luck 😈🥰
I don’t do follow for follow. If you followed me from a previous post of mine with the expectation that I’ll follow back, you’re sorely mistaken. If I follow you, it’s because I’m interested in what you do. Feel free to unfollow if you don’t like this, I don’t want empty follows.
I might catch flack for this, but I feel like there are so many people who say “let’s be friends” but don’t actually want to do anything more than exchange follows or set up collabs. I say fuck collabs, I want people I feel comfortable spending time with off stream.
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is maiito. I’m a villain vtuber. And you should be careful… because once I catch you, you’re mine. And I won’t let you go very easily.
A pleasure meeting you. I’ll ensure your stay is just as pleasurable.
So many creators work really hard to create a distinct and comfortable community. It can be hurtful if you come into their chats and talk about other streamers or your own channel without that streamer bringing it up first. Sadly, this is hard to realize if you don’t stream. 1/4
Some streamers think it’s rare to have friendships with other streamers that aren’t focused on collabs or numbers, but every one of my friendships is that kind of friendship. I look for people, not collab partners. Be genuine about your intentions.
Community leaders, never forget that vibe bans are an option. It shouldn't be done often, and it may feel weird to ban people even if they haven't broken any rules, but if you or people in your community are uncomfortable around someone, it's okay to think about removing them.
@feministevee
Listen, I get that it's not for you, but don't say "it shouldn't be a thing." This is 2023. I thought we were past telling consenting adults what they can or can't do in the bedroom.
I didn't expect this to feel so shitty... I opened up to this person, we talked about deep shit together. Even though we haven't talked much recently I still considered them a good friend, so it feels like I got blindsided
I don't brand myself as a lewdtuber anymore. I tried it out and it's not for me. I don't enjoy having sexual interactions with my viewers, it leads to uncomfortable situations for me. I love stuff like making audios because there's no direct interaction. Thanks for understanding!
HANDS UP. This is a heist. I'm here for DOPAMINE. Give me your interactions. Likes, replies, retweets, I'll take whatever you have on you.
Make this go smoothly, and I may even give some dopamine in return.
gentle reminder that it's weird to go into big discord vc's and make things about yourself, either by not-so-gracefully shifting the topic of conversation to you every couple minutes or by hijacking the vc by constantly narrating/commenting on a game that only you are playing
Reasons why you should follow me:
-male vtubers are underrepresented
-I’m the 2nd best bald vtuber
-If you follow I’ll stop boning your mother
-my tweets are bangers (60% of the time)
-I’m pretty good at making lists
-I’m flirty af
-I’ll smooch you
-we can commit crimes together
I'm careful about who I keep close to me. If you
-think that being honest is too scary and you'd rather lie
-hurt my friends
-make me feel less than good when you're around
then you're not worth my time. Stay out of my life.
I’ve been low key avoiding using this art since I started getting mass compared to other bald people/characters. But you know what, fuck the haters. I love this art. Made by @/aepha_v
Streamers and VTubers... OWN YOUR SHIT!!
we all out here making content, you gotta give people a reason to watch you over other people. If y'all keep saying you're "just a" this or that you're basically saying "I don't stand out."
Take pride in your content, own your brand.
I’m not saying finding people to collab with or follow is a bad thing either. Just call it what it is. That’s not friendship, that’s a work relationship.
friendly reminder to be selfish. Make sure your needs are all taken care of before the needs of others.
The best way to fill someone else's cup is by making sure your own cup is overflowing. Can't pour from an empty cup, so what do you expect to give if your needs aren't met?

Male, female, non-binary, lewd, seiso, live2d, 3d, png, whatever you are, whatever you use, fuck the haters. If you want to be a VTuber, you are a VTuber. You are valid.
Self-promo is hard to define sometimes. People get REAL clever with it sometimes and it irks me. I worked hard to build my community and I still do, so when people come in with the intent to use the platform I created to draw attention to their own content, it feels shitty. 1/2
