Super controversial opinion, but I find it strange that Van der Poel faces far fewer doping allegations compared to someone like Pogacar. Van der Poel has been much more inconsistent, has a team manager implicated in doping purchases, and a father who was also involved in doping

Amstel Gold Race's photo-finish setup does not comply with UCI's procedures. A two-camera setup is mandatory for World Tour races. Just like last year, they were using one camera. Even for "level 2" a two-camera setup is required. #AGR22

Vingegaard made a mistake by not sitting on Pogacar's wheel on the Galibier. This made it take longer for him to react and allowed Pogacar to attack from the opposite side of Vingegaard's overlapping wheel, forcing Jonas to counter into the wind #TDF2024

UCI introduced the 3km rule to have less GC riders in the mix with the sprint teams. Today’s finish wasn’t flat, gaps >3” quickly open up on these kicks which means GC riders still want to be in front, even with the rule in place. Applying it today is nonsense. #LaVuelta22

We understand that Evenepoel’s camp have contacted a number of teams after concerns over QuickStep’s finances. Evenepoel also doesn’t believe his wage compares with that of his peers. It's thought he earns no more than €4m after bonuses, compared to Pogačar’s reported €7m. 2/

I believe Pogacar is overrated for MSR. His sprint is decent, especially after fatigue build-up and hard days, but MSR is an easy race. A 6 hour recovery ride (⤵) followed by 35' of fun, I can't see him make the difference on Poggio. #MilanoSanremo
