We are so sorry to hear about the death of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
His first parish was in Lewisham, and he opened our Riverside building and provided our community with other great support – not to mention his inspirational campaigning on apartheid & more. He will be missed.
We've been asked to comment on false rumours circulating online.
Contrary to some allegations:
- we've not turned patients away from our hospitals
- we've not denied patients key treatment
Indeed, we're proud of how our amazing staff are working hard to keep patients safe.
Patient-specific goals are always important. Iain lives in Catford but is originally from Kincardine on the east coast of Scotland. He’s making his way there on the Motormed (exercise) bike, an epic journey of 430 miles, using our map as inspiration. He really is our

We share the horror and sadness of our communities in mourning the terrible loss of local teacher Sabina Nessa.
May her memory live on forever, and her senseless death mark a turning point in such unacceptable violence against women and girls. Rest in peace, Sabina.
A lovely boost today at Queen Elizabeth Hospital – Hasan and his amazing fruit stand are back.
It’s not eggs-actly business as usual though – organic and free range eggs are now on the menu too!
We’ll let you know when the Lewisham stall reopens. Great to have you back 👊
