The final stop of today before travelling to Belgium is the Thiepval Memorial. A moment to reflect on progress of the Somme. We also have students who were able to see their relativeโs name for the first time.

A poignant moment for our student Chris who is the first in his family to visit the grave of his relative - Gunner George Wright of the Royal Field Artillery who was killed 23rd July 1917.
Last night Kew House were able to take part in the Menin Gate ceremony in the beautiful town of Ypres. Jonah and Ethan have relatives on the Gate & were given the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of their families and the school during the ceremony.

An emotional day for the Humanities Department. We say goodbye to Ms Lawrence after 6 years and Mr Cook after 5 years. Both have been a huge asset to the school and a huge support to the team. We wish them well.

We join millions of people around the world in mourning the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty was our longest reigning monarch and will be remembered for a remarkable lifetime of service. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.
A level historians are looking forward to attending a lecture on the 28th March on 'How the Allies won the war in 1918' by Prof. Gary Sheffield. Students will attend the Thames Valley Branch of the Western Front Association

An important part of our personal tutor system is supporting the students with their academic progress but also their personal development. I have been the PT to these two for 7 years, getting to know them and their families in that time. Sad to see them leave.

Day 2 of the 70 strong group of Year 10 geographers who have travelled to South Wales. In the glorious sunshine on Newton Beach, the group were measuring the beach profile to determine the impact of groynes on coastal processes. โ๏ธ ๐๏ธ ๐บ๏ธ
Today was the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane with Sean from Year 13. Sean is coming to the end of his secondary education and I thought I would remind him of his battlefield visit when he was in Year 8. On the visit he completed a reflective journal.

Y13 Business & PE students were at the All England Tennis Club at Wimbledon today. A tour included the Centre Court, the trophy room & the Media Centre. The day also included a seminar on the business of running an international sporting event & brand management.
