Who was in control of the ball?
Who slides their foot into the path of the other? (When a player runs into the path of the player in control of the ball, who gets the free kick?)

@mrjakehumphrey
So if a player just happens to slide between an opponent and the ball that player is dribbling and the opponent trips over him, the opponent has committed a foul by kicking him as he trips?

You're joking. Stamps?! He's running and Ederson comes in late and misses the ball. Where's he supposed to put his foot in the milliseconds after his late challenge?

This explanation only makes sense if you watch the slow mo VAR in isolation. When you watch the actual phase of play + replay it’s a pen. Odegaard is in control, Ederson out of control and gets there before he does. Textbook penalty

What are you taking about? At no point did Ederson had control of the ball. He stucked his leg out and prevented Odegaard from rounding him, penalty all day long.
