CONFIRMED: Tomorrow opposition party leaders (Labour, SNP, Lib Dems, DUP, Plaid Cymru, SDLP, Greens, and Alliance Party) will hold a meeting to 'discuss the next steps in holding Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings to account'.
Today I’m remembering my wonderful husband Gordon Aikman who died 5 years ago today from motor neurone disease.
It seems like yesterday and also a lifetime ago.
I feel so lucky to have been part of his incredible life.

Two startling sentences in the Sunday Times:
‘The government has awarded £1.5bn of taxpayers’ money to companies linked to the Conservative Party during the coronavirus pandemic. None of the firms were prominent government suppliers before this year.’
I am fascinated at Labour's strategy throughout the Cummings crisis: to hold back.
They've NOT called for DC to be sacked (although do want investigation).
@Keir_Starmer
hasn't said a word.
Heeding Napoleon's advice to avoid interrupting your enemy when he's making a mistake?
BREAK: The Metropolitan Police breached the rights of organisers of a vigil for Sarah Everard with its handling of the planned event, High Court judges have ruled.
I think this from Phil and Holly could actually be reasonably significant.
-Their show is rarely political.
-Big broad audience.
-Away from the bubble.
-And they are losing patience with the government:

Confused by Labour's

position?
Today
@jeremycorbyn
told me:
🔹He's NOT sitting on the fence.
🔹His position ISN'T muddled.
🔹But when I asked EIGHT TIMES if he's pro-Remain or pro-Leave, he wouldn't say.
NEW: Prof Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance left No 10 at approx 1820.
Earlier we were told they would be appearing with the PM at the daily press conference.
Why did they turn up for the presser and then leave?
Have asked No 10 for comment.
EXCL: 'I got a phonecall. It was Buckingham Palace asking me was I available to speak to the Duchess of Sussex.'
Meghan Duchess of Sussex called

BREAKING: Senior Tory MP William Wragg accuses govt of blackmail.

NEW: I understand
@BorisJohnson
has NOT personally contacted anyone in Jo Cox's family. Yet he told me 'I have tried to clear it up with her family'.
I'm told Brendan Cox received contact from the PM's office. No one has spoken to Jo's sister Kim or her parents Gordon and Jean.
VIDEO:
@BorisJohnson
also refused to say sorry for comments that:
🔹The ‘best way to honour the memory of Jo Cox’ would be ‘to get Brexit done’.
But he told me he’s been in touch with Jo Cox’s family to 'clear it up' and and 'they’ve been very understanding'.

Wow.
@BorisJohnson

EXCL: Sue Gray has been appointed chief of staff to Labour leader Keir Starmer.
As a senior civil servant, the job offer will be subject to ACOBA process before formal confirmation.
Major coup for the Labour leader and part of an effort to prove the party is preparing for govt.
PM HEALTH UPDATE:
-
@BorisJohnson
is receiving standard oxygen treatment & breathing without other assistance.
-He does NOT have pneumonia.
-He has NOT required mechanical ventilation or non invasive respiratory support.
-His condition was stable overnight and is in good spirits.

Labour have an enormous video banner of the Queen to use at the opening of their conference tomorrow morning.
Delegates will sing ‘God Save The King’ and Keir Starmer will pay tribute.
Jeremy Corbyn says singing the national anthem at conference is ‘very very odd’.
Fascinating
@NicolaSturgeon
is already speaking live about Coronavirus / COVID-19 after dialling into COBRA meeting earlier.
Effectively beating the UK government in responding. Helps make herself seem in control and and a key player in the management of the outbreak.
Corbyn was clearly well prepared for the ITV debate.
But today with
