Ever felt bummed out that Terraria Otherworld's cool grapple swings got cancelled? Well I for one sure was, so I ended up making an Acrobatics Pack that replaces your standard grapple to give it custom swing physics!

Scrapped redesign for the Ravager from the
#CalamityMod
, which was used for its relic sprite.
This Ravager would have been animated through code and used its multiple limbs to move around the terrain and attack the player.

Being located right underneath the abyss, water constantly seeps through the ceiling, leading to the lava being covered in a dense layer of boiling mist and an abundance of vegetation

Here were the design iterations for the core itself. Fun fact, all of these originated from an overpaint of the closed ice caves door from Spelunky HD
As some of you guys may already be aware, the plan is to split up a lot of 5-helmet sets into individual unique ones, but it sure is going to take a while, so enjoy the early game ones for now!
Next up on the checklist, a Very Cool Secret thing, and a new earlygame melee armor😈
After many unsuccessful iterations, I'm super satisfied with this design.
It goes all in on the parasitism motif (sprouting from a corpse, looking like a giant tick, it's a tapeworm hive), with the bonus of the hanging legs looking like spider fangs for its silhouette

Here's a bunch of color experimentation i did for it before we settled on the iridescent oil design. We almost went for the second one, but the iridescent effect was just so cool. Sinix's video on holographic clothing effects really awakened me to the potential of gradient maps
The multi-limbed, really out-there appearance would have required an almost full rework & complex code visuals for the design to work. Unfortunately, boss changes have always been outside of my control, and historically left up to Fabsol

duel with friends, tried to make a siren with cybernetics inspired by the leviathan from
#Rainworld
but I kinda deviated from the original concept.
I know that as a concept artist, you have to make sure your concept works nicely and fits the constraints of what's in the game, but my god, having to redesign bosses knowing they would get barely any real changes to suit the new visuals was really soul-crushing. Glad I left 🤩

Trying to use godot for a small project and man, I'm too used to Terraria coding and C# because having to deal with the weird node architecture godot got going on is really eeky to me... I just want to do all the code myself, not rely on premade components n alldat😭Weeping

Seeing this makes me wonder if removing contact damage from some bosses has ever been considered?
Bosses constantly being a threat to melee players even when they're not dashing really hampers the viability of going close range imo. Ofc worm bosses would get excluded.

Actually I designed it before we decided rav should be moved to the crags. The flower idea came from a sketch made by

(She made the current rav sprite) that had roots and flowers incorporated into it. It was a big inspiration for the color scheme as well
Originally planned to do a simple overpaint of the old one to give it some more detail, ended up entirely redoing it because of how fucked the perspective on the rings was
I used Blender to make myself a base for the shape, which is kinda cool, might use it more in the future

I didn't do any concept art for the biome blade line at all sorry (Just quick pixel sketches i refined into the final product), but i do have some for the ark of the element and cosmos (Mostly AotE though, the sketch for the AotC is a bit less accurate)
And with this marks the last of my teasers for new Wulfrum content. Not everything has been fully showcased obviously, but the Swaggiest stuff has all been revealed
For those wondering why the update hasn't come out despite me previously claiming it would release on August 1st, changes with TML's drop code unfortunately delayed the update a bit, due to the lack of a streamlined system to edit vanilla loot tables. Sorry about that!
Also, Fun Fact™, the idea for the set bonus came from a person on the discord server requesting a wulfrum robot vanity
I decided "why not" and made it as a vanity acc, but then I realized i could also reuse it for a cool set bonus and here we are (And i kept the vanity item)
In a previous tweet, I was talking about how I retracted the concepts I made because I didn't trust the remaining dev team to execute it properly without my supervision.
-This one, I kinda never had any actual hopes of it being done justice, even when I was still on the team
