These guys meet me every night for cookies, that buck is 11 years old and his rack has been much bigger over the years. My son raised him as an orphan and we always hope he makes it thru hunting season. He’s never forgotten where he was raised. He’s a Xmas deer!

This is what it looks like early in the morning. They eat, then some exercise. They are cared for just like the timed event horses, many are worth more. The @PRCA_ProRodeo is proud of all these horses and goe out of their way to make sure they are comfortable.

Miss C died Sunday night she was an incredible part of our family at TCVH was friends with most of the world champions and Im sure she still talking to them now. She was best friends with Stampede Warrior of the Calgary Stampede. Horses have made my life and she was very special.

Watched my daughter Carolyn play in a wheelchair basketball tournament today. At the end everyone stood up and got out of their wheelchair, not Carolyn, she got shot 4 years ago six times. She is the badest ass I know. She lived and man is she alive.

This shit is not for the weak of heart. Kicking Cotton came in with a massive ulcer pre-NFR knocked out 3 times injected sewn up 10 days apart. Always amazed at what the crew does and Hannah graduated from vet school 6 months ago, not sure anything she can’t do.

This mare is the last embryo out of Spring Rose(she was 33 and buried here) the mother of all the Spring horses of Flying Five. She is by the Calgary horse Go Wild(clone). Foal is by Bobby(clone) and all her foals buck and all the Bobbys are blue roan(black when born).

The old mares get trimmed twice a year, the buckers move enough and we never need to trim them but when they get old they don’t move enough and Top Hat got little pampering.

We are doing so many buckers now and do lots of lameness in bucking horses so i went ahead and ordered one.There are also horses that are extremely lame that need to be trimmed that we can’t lift feet. Calgary has one and Tyler says he can do anything with it.

I had to share this morning, we talk about things that are genetic, bucking is very. Think about this, for 5000 years we’ve tried to breed the buck out. Extremely inbred, never have seen an ocd lesion or kissing spine, we buck adults. Pedigree last place we look. 1 day old!

With the horse business going crazy and added incentives in roping, I’ve never bred so many timed event horses, in fact I’ve usually bred a couple a year. Most have no idea how this works but it’s pretty neat rodeo has embraced advanced reproductive technology.
