I saw the Providence College men’s basketball team beat Rhode Island (84-69) on Saturday at the Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence on Saturday night.Great atmosphere at the game with a sellout.Bryce Hopkins,Devin Carter & Josh Oduro for a great nucleus for the Friars.

I saw the Providence College Men’s Basketball Intra Squad Scrimmage yesterday.Very impressed with Indiana transfer Al Durham and AJ Reeves.The Friars Shot the ball very well from 3-point land.The Friars have a good team better than preseason Team!

Xavier is playing Winthrop in men’s basketball today in the Skip Prosser Classic to honor the former Xavier & Wake Forest Coach who passed in 2007 at the age of 56.He was my Assistant at Xavier for 8 yrs.Great Coach Wonderful .

This could be the best season in men’s basketball for the Mountain West Conference in quite a while.The League is very deep and the Coaching is excellent.The last time the MW was a 3-Bid League was 2015 and the MW can equal that or do better this season.

Many people were saying all along the the Big 12 was the best men’s BB Conference!They had a great league but the Big East was a little better. Marquette,Xavier,UConn,Providence, Creighton we’re terrific teams & rest of the BE were solid teams.Both terrific leagues!

I played in a charity golf tournament today in Massachusetts to benefit homeless and disabled military veterans run by Wayne Soares.We take our men & women in the military for granted,myself certainly included.They protect us so we can enjoy our lives.They are the true heroes!

I just got back last night from doing a basketball Clinic in Honolulu, was organized by Dave Odom and Kemper Sports from Chicago for the your boys and girls whose homes were destroyed or badly damaged by the terrible fires in Maui a few months ago.Awesome!

I saw Bill Walton in Hawaii last November and spoke with him for a while.He was doing TV and I was with Coach Dave Odom doing a basketball clinic for about 100 boys & girls from Maui whose homes were damaged or destroyed by a terrible fire.Great personality,Great Guy!Fun! RIP.

I am standing next to a statue of Bill Bradley who was a great player at Princeton & graduated in 1965.He won a gold medal in the Olympics,2 NBA titles with the Knicks,was an All-American at Princeton,a Rhodes Scholar and a US Senator.He was a “special guy at a special school.”

Another of my former players who was at this event was Mike Brown who graduated in 1996.Mike did an awesome job breaking in and mentoring many of those players on that 1997 Elite 8 Team. Mike Brown was 1 of the Best Leaders that I ever coached.

Very sad to learn that legendary Princeton University basketball coach, Pete Carril,passed today at the age of 92.Pete was a brilliant basketball coach who certainly got the most out of his talent.He won many Ivy League titles.A great credit to Princeton & college basketball.

We had over 100 young boys and girls at our basketball Clinic who were flown over from Maui to Honolulu and also some youngsters from Honolulu.Hawaiian Airlines flew them over and they received a Maui Strong T-shirt & a brand new leather ball from Nike.They had a great time! Fun!

I just returned from a Coaches vs Cancer golf outing in Olean,NY hosted by Mark Schmidt the Head Coach at St.Bonaventure University.We raised a lot of money for the American Cancer Society.The ACS has raised over 5 Billion dollars to fight cancer since 1946.

Utah State made a great decision to hire Ryan Odom,the former head coach at UMBC. Ryan did a wonderful job at UMBC for 5 years and upset Virginia in the NCAA Tournament.His father,Dave,was a tremendous Coach at Wake Forest & South Carolina.

UConn played a great game at Kansas but lost (69-65) last night.The Huskies played without Stephon Castle who is a fabulous Freshman point guard. UConn has a chance to repeat as National Champs this season.There is no super-elite team.Lot of terrific teams.Wide open! Fun!

I saw Nevada Play at Wyoming last night.Wyoming is young & a ton of injuries but Nevada was awesome! None of the “ Silk Suiters”will want to play them in the Big Dance

Alaska is a beautiful state & Anchorage is a fine city.The fans in Anchorage love college hoops & the Tournament had a great tradition.Sad!

I went to the Fairleigh Dickinson’s men’s team practice on Monday and the Tip-Off Dinner in the evening.Great turnout at the dinner.The team looked very good & Coach Tobin Anderson will do a terrific job with the FD basketball program.Former 5 Star Coaches we’re in attendance.

Mitch Buonaguro received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Upstate New York Basketball Hall Of Fame this past Sunday.Mitch is a great Coach and he certainly deserved this honor.We had a tremendous evening.Over 225 people at this !

I am looking forward to a Big Game in A-10 on Saturday, St. Bonaventure @ Saint Louis on CBS Sports Net at 2:00 PM ET w. @johnsadak .Both Teams are good enough to be in the NCAA Tournament.

I am really enjoying along with millions of people The Last Dance Documentary.I was fortunate to Coach John Paxson & Joe Kleine when I was an Asst. at Notre Dame.(Kleine transferred to Arkansas after 1 yr.)Both Great People & Terrific Players.

I saw VCU practice on Tues.They certainly looked like a Top 15 Team in the country.Good depth,quickness & athleticism.Great Chemistry.
