May the Lord open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and bless all the work of your hands. May he bless you as you enter and depart the city. You're a blessing to many pple who look up to you. Have a blessed week 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
While studying medicine at University of Zimbabwe (UZ), I had ??? like where do medicines come from? Who makes them and how? 2 semesters later, I dropped out & my journey to finding answers began. Today, I got my 1st dose of a vaccine whose development I was part of.

Never imagined my name would be mentioned in

@TembaMliswa
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. Hope my forefathers (Shoperai..Mazhaumbe..Nerupiri and Matemai) are celebrating in Nyikadzimu.
How the dream started vs how it's going!
got the good news of the promotion from a Sr. Scientist to a Principal Scientist. I thank everyone who has held my hand (head, shoulder, etc) to get me where I am today especially my parents who have stood by me from day 1 kuMbare 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
If I've seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. Very excited and humbled to receive this prestigious prize today, the journey has been long but rewarding. To the aspiring young scientists, it's possible.
It was an honor to be profiled by Pfizer and share how my team is developing Next Gen Biomanufacturing processes to rapidly bring medicines and vaccines to patients
It’s been a long journey but I’m thankful for people who’ve supported me along the way. I’ve been selected as a Group Leader and I’m looking forward to continue to grow as a Leader in Pfizer as I embark on this new phase 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Exactly 16yrs ago at this time I was preparing to finish my 'O' Level exams. I was so focused on the goal, I had a big dream. I'm here now and like the universe, the dream keeps expanding. Celebrate small victories, allow yourself to start small, keep moving no matter what 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
A leaf from my mother's plant has fallen, I'm in pain and my grief is so deep that I collapsed a couple of times. I'll be taking some time, bear with me in this difficult time. Please pray for me and my family 💔💔💔
Paingonzi pafiwa ndini ndainzi ndafa, asi nhas uno ndini, ndini uya uya wamaigara muchituka nemashoko. Vaiti uyu haana chaanogona. Tarisa uone wavangavakarasa. It's tough growing up in the ghetto, don't judge coz there's so much potential hidden in there! RIP Soul Jah Love 💔💔💔
I've always wanted to make an impact and help people but I never imagined it could happen at a global scale. I salute everyone who held my hand in my journey ✊🏿

Happy to share that I've been selected as part of 100 early-career engineers/scientists by the U.S National Academy of Engineers to participate in a symposium in California in the fall discussing topics from Building the future of AI to Impending Revolution of Digital Twin. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don't usually do photo dumps but it's my birthday today. As I reflect, God has highly favored and blessed me, He's put me in places I've never imagined, sat on tables I never imagined. I know one thing, it's just Genesis and God will continue to take me further, Amen🙏🏾🙏🏾!🔥🇿🇼
P1 I grew up in the dusty streets of Harare (Zimbabwe) and one thing that was apparent then was I wanted to make an impact before I leave this place we call earth. I have always believed that life is not just about an individual but the impact an individual has on the community,
The story of how Pfizer delivered a
#COVID19
vaccine.
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has not been approved or licensed by the
@US_FDA
but has been authorized for emergency use to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 16 & older. See conditions of use:
Punishing countries for sounding the alarm is counterproductive and sets a bad precedent. Other countries may be reluctant to share any information on future VOCs to avoid being punished economically.
Checked on my folks recently and was told one them went to a funeral. Had an intense chat with both of them and they tried so hard to explain themselves out of trouble. It reminded me when I was young on the other side trying to explain myself out of trouble 😊.

It's been a challenging year but it's nice to close it with some JOY. Big big accomplishment by my team, our patent app is now in the wild. The technology will "facilitate faster response times to address virus strain changes during a pandemic or seasonal viral changes". 🙏🏾🙏🏾
sitting here by the river across MIT to clear my mind but found myself thinking deeply about 🇿🇼's healthcare system and Africa's future. I lost 2 brothers and many relatives, could have been avoided

The futile cycle goes like this: IMF gives “loans” to an African country X => Country X is asked by IMF for structural adjustments including high taxes => People protests and country X is in turmoil and will take ages to recover. Hello Kenya!
In primary xul, group 7 (G7) was for those last in class and I didn't want anything to do with it. As a young man, I'm told G7 is for the wealthiest nations making decisions for the world. Semantics aside, my dream is to have 🇿🇼 at the table. Come on MaZimba we can do this 💪🏾💪🏾
My great honor to be invited by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences to participate in U.S.-Africa Frontiers of Science, Engineering & Sciences Symposium in Morocco next month. Topics include Vaccine Manufacturing, One Health, Green Technologies, Sensing Technologies, etc. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
After a long day at work, I went to do grocery shopping and at checkout I realized I forgot my credit card. I gave the cashier my credit #/infor from my head and it worked. She looked at me funny and said are you crazy, why? I smiled & said for times like this 😊😊
Happy Independence Day my beloved motherland Zim🇿🇼! Despite the challenges, which WE can easily solve if we put our best minds together, the 🇿🇼 people are strong, loving, and kind. God bless Zim!
P2 that's what makes life worth living. Today I am so proud not only of being part of Pfizer, but also for being part of the team that delivered this great Christmas present to the world. I am so proud that I am able to make an impact at a global scale.
P1 I grew up in the dusty streets of Harare (Zimbabwe) and one thing that was apparent then was I wanted to make an impact before I leave this place we call earth. I have always believed that life is not just about an individual but the impact an individual has on the community,
Honored to participate in this conference. I'll be giving a presentation on how my team develops manufacturing processes of various medicines and vaccines, and how we are advancing some of the exciting state-of-the-art science and technologies in the field.

I had dinner with my PhD advisor
@Moon_Synth_Bio
& his research group, he's a great inspiration & mentor. I still owe him one thing though, which he keeps asking for, "take me to Vic Falls?"
@tourismzimbabwe
Honored to be invited to Korea and importantly share the stage with my PhD advisor
@Moon_Synth_Bio
at the prestigious Korean Society for Biotech annual meeting! I'll be talking about how we are addressing some of the most pressing global health challenges of our time!
The death rate of critically ill patients with Covid-19 in Africa is higher than elsewhere. Take this very seriously and protect the vulnerable, yourself, your loved ones, and others. Be safe!
Not only do patients need access to critical medications, they also need proper meals as they fight different diseases. I volunteered to be a chef & prepped food for patients in MO/IL fighting HIV/AIDS, cancer, etc. Doing my part on both ends of the floor!
There are moments where I feel proud to be a scientist, this is one of those moments. The hero(in)es of tomorrow will be scientists. Africa needs

I'll be on a panel discusn a behind the scenes look into Pfizer's breakthrough Covid-19 Vaccine & how we made the unimaginable possible. If you're in STEM, law xul, Social W, etc & want to learn how these fields come tgther, rgster👇🏾, places are limited.
"I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend... Be strong and very courageous" Have a blessed week 🙏🏾🙏🏾!
If you ever feel like giving up, don't. Look over your shoulder and see how far you've come, the battles you've fought and won. Keep moving and follow your passion. The obstacles you see in front of you are nothing but an illusion, in fact, they're a conduit to your destiny!
I hear Cholera is back again & obviously triggers a lot of memories @ Uni. of 🇿🇼 Med Xul. While there are short-term solutions, it's time we deal with this scourge once & for all. It's not difficult to develop robust water purification/drainage systems.
@MoHCCZim
let's sit down
In my talk, I'll be discussing how we develop medicines and vaccines manufacturing processes from scratch all the way to commercial scale. I'm ready, see you there 😊😊!
We’re discussing some of the pressing challenges on the continent and how we can bring innovative solutions on the table, it’s an honor to be invited by the US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
I've received so many requests across the continent to share career guidance and starting Q3, I'll make time. If you're in high school, undergrad, grad school, and a postdoc, please connect!
Happy independence day my motherland 🇿🇼🇿🇼! It's been a long journey but may you continue to heal and prosper in many facets. Will contribute and do my part towards your development.
It has been a rough patch but I want to thank all of you for the kind words and keeping me and my family in your prayers. May the living God richly bless you, happy thanksgiving 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Was at the airport & the TSA agent said "sorry you can't be on a plane without a guardian". Thought she's talking to someone else & I said haa?, "yes you, under aged can't be on a plane alone". Showed her my ID & she apologized profusely. Told her I take that as a compliment 😊
If your 2022 goals are a function of variables you've no control over, they're not goals but a wishlist. Focus on what you can control and allow yourself to grow, it's ok to change gears & start from zilch. To 2022, be gracious. I wish you a Happy & Prosperous New Year!
Honored for the opportunity to engage with the President of the US National Academy of Sciences. We had an inspiring discussion on collaboration, innovation, & development to pave the way for transformative partnerships & advancing knowledge for a brighter future on the continent
Surround yourself with the right people & value authenticity not just agreement. True personal & professional growth comes from diverse perspectives & constructive feedback. Surround yourself with people who challenge you to be better, not just ones who echo what you want to hear
This Black History Month, I salute Onesimus, an African slave who saved many lives in Boston using a techniq developed in Africa, which protected pple from smallpox. The techniq gave hope for future epidemics, set the stage for vaccination & led to the eradication of smallpox.
A serious healthcare prof. knows you're racing against time when it comes to patients. A doc get's a patient in crit. cond, takes a 2h lunch w/o attending a patient. Remembers it's his b/d, goes to buy cake 4 another 2h, takes nurses to celebrate 2h, patient dies in 7th h 💔💔💔
Education system back home on the continent is very rigid and we’ll need to change that when it’s time to empower the talent and fuel innovation 🙏🏿⏳🙏🏿!
2020 has been a turbulent and stressful year. Despite the challenges, God's mercy and favor has taken us this far. As you take time to be with family and friends (in person or virtual), I wish you a very Merry Christmas! Be safe and God bless you!
Levels of coronavirus in waste water, which correlates with # of + covid cases. This can easily become a disaster in developing nations, which many don't have state-of-the-art waste water purification processes (WWPP). Africa, we can easily modernize our healthcare systems & WWPP
"African governments spend more on servicing debt than on COVID-19"
Africa is losing so many lives unnecessarily because of broken healthcare systems, misguided priorities 💔💔💔
Our scars have this strange power to always remind us that our past was real. I'm however grateful and excited about the future because the power to change it for the better is still in our hands. Happy Easter and have a great week ahead!
Me & my Pfizer colleagues were at HSSU, a historically black university in STL to talk about career development & opportunities at Pfizer, obviously hoping they join us in the future. It’s JOY to talk to students, a few years ago I was like them & now I’m on the other side 😊
Science & Tech are critical for our development. But zvinodzidziswa nechirungu, which sometimes makes it difficult to understand even basic concepts. This creates a barrier especially for kids and even for parents. I think we should use local languages. What do you think?
A bit nostalgic, this was in 2013 on this day after we received the good news that we passed our PhD qualification exams in our cohort. We went to a Cardinals baseball game to celebrate as we were venturing into different research areas.
I grew up in the church under his teachings. Today he's gone to be with the Lord, his legacy will continue to speak for itself in his absence. You fought a good fight, RIP Baba Guti🕊️ 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
Started back home 🇿🇼 as friends sharing ideas, friendship grew stronger in 🇩🇪, and further evolved into brotherhood 🇺🇸. To those who support their friends all the way, 🥂
Not a big fun of turbulence during flight but the lady next to me was holding her crucifix very tightly and firmly. I could hear her silent whisper, “Lord help me, I’m your servant, I still need time”, and I can relate 😊😊.
