The hysteria and genuine love around the UConn basketball program and school as a whole is palpable. There were thousands waiting in line an hour before the doors of Gampel opened this morning. Impressive showing. We’re having our moment. Everyone knows it. And it’s awesome.

The UConn campus is immaculate. I hadn’t been back since X-Lot Spring Weekend in 2010. Countless buildings have been erected and the aesthetic on campus has the feel of a private university in the south. Don’t get it twisted. We still pregame harder than you party.

Hurley and his staff run a tight ship. The practice was nonstop and incredibly regimented. I looked for it and can confirm there was not a single water bottle in site for 1.5 hours. When these guys step on the floor for practice it’s all or nothing. You’d have no clue there were

Liam McNeely’s jump shot is purer than pure. May still be nursing that ankle a bit but his talent stands out. Guarding Alex Karaban all year in practice will pay large dividends.
