Happening now, 3 male subjects carjacked a couple at gunpoint at 1518 San Ignacio Ave stealing a grey Toyota. Minutes later two Coral Gables officers spot the vehicle and take all 3 subjects into custody without incident. Another great arrest by our hard working team.

**Breaking News** Coral Gables Police Detectives have just arrested Benjamin Michael Garcia, who is suspected of 5 vandalism cases from March 27th through the present. He had targeted several locations in Coral Gables spray painting Anti Semitic messages. Updates to follow.
Earl this morning, officers received information about 3 suspicious persons on Country Club Prado looking into cars. Contact was made, 3 Hispanic males in hoodies arrested for theft to motor vehicle and occupied residential burglary. A stolen firearm was recovered. Great job!

The 2019 February Officer of the Month is Officer Kristopher Clute. Ofc. Clute apprehended a robbery subject who attempted to flee from a scene and board one of the city's trolleys. Ofc. Clute removed the subject safely and placed him under arrest without incident. Great Job!

Early this morning, officers arrested two juveniles for loitering/prowling at the 4600 block of Ponce and a search of their property yielded a key that was linked to a stolen vehicle recovery that occurred at the 5000 block of Granada. Great job!

Units are working an active scene in the area of Obispo Ave. and Columbus Blvd.
Units responded to an audible burglar alarm within 5 minutes and apprehended 2 suspects burglarizing a residence in the area.
All suspects are in custody and there is no threat to the community.
Our officers enjoy giving back to the community with a birthday request for a girl who turned 7 yesterday. It truly brought a smile to her face when we did the drive by her house. Happy Birthday!

Yesterday in the 5200 BLK of Orduna Dr, an alert neighbor contacted police about a subject attempting to break into the rear of a home that backed up to the canal. Officers responded and the subject was taken into custody.
Lt. Thomas noticed that the American flag was worn at West Lab K-8. He purchased a new one, had members of the Honor Guard assist with retiring the old flag and give a demonstration to the school safety patrol on proper flag folding. Thanks to him they have a new flag flying.

After 30 years, Communication Supervisor Sharon Swikehardt retired from the CGPD 911 Center. Sharon has answered thousands of 911 calls over the years and help keep the officers safe while she was on duty. She was joined by her family and friends and we will deeply miss her.

This morning Officers Pagan & Barrow participated in the WTC Memorial Stair Climb in NYC in memory of the Police Officers & Firefighters that lost their lives in the 9/11 attack. Ofc. Pagan placed 2nd in the over 40 LEO division after running up 80 flights of stairs. Congrats!
