Less than 24 hours after winning a National Championship in New Orleans, Ed Orgeron hopped on a plane to come and see us at the AFCA Convention in Nashville 🏈
We have officially concluded the 2019 AFCA Convention!
I truly hope you enjoyed it.
Our goal is for you to walk out a better coach than you walked in. Whether it be through education or networking.
Thank YOU for making the AFCA special!
I found an old flash drive with a lot of my WR drills diagrammed w/ the "why" we do it.
Took some time to do these but proved very beneficial over the years.
As many are heading out today, I just wanted to say thank you for your part in making this convention special!
I hope you’re walking out better than you walked in! 🏈 ❤️
Check out part two of creating explosion plays with extended WR splits. This week we are focusing on the screen portion. Next week I'll talk a little about the vertical pass game out of wide splits.
We utilize a numbering system to align our back that allows for ultimate flexibility ranging from moving the RB around in empty, to running both opposite and same side runs, or pistol.
I am going to put together a little article regarding this.
That’s a wrap to the 2023 AFCA Convention.
Thanks to all that attended and safe travels ✈️
Appreciate all the committee members, speakers, and AFCA members that make this thing go!
Really hope y’all enjoyed it!
See you all in Nashville!
Excited to hear Coach Marion speak on WR play at the AFCA Convention!
Still one of the most creative and innovative play callers I’ve spent time with over the past few years.

And just like that…. We are closing out the ‘22 Convention!
Thanks to all the coaches for making this so special!
Definitely missed y’all!
See you in Charlotte!

I do a lot of doodling in long meetings! I like to put a formation down and put a string of plays together. I always win when the defense is on a sheet of paper and I have the pen haha!
Here is the last segment of the extended WR split series focusing on vertical passing game. Two minutes was hard to talk about it all, so if you have any questions reply or DM and I'll answer what I can.
Don't forget Part 1 and 2 talk about the splits, run game, and screen game.
I love the Clemson vs Alabama matchup. It says so much about the coaching profession. Both teams have elite talent and elite coaching, but there is huge dichotomy between Nick Saban’s and Dabo Swinney’s style. There is no cookie cutter way to run a program!
Very excited to kick off the 2020 AFCA Convention today.
Remember the convention will only be as good as you make it.
Today will feature over 50 sessions and meetings. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn, grow, and network.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Department of Athletics mourns the sudden loss of Louisiana Football assistant coach D.J. Looney, who passed away Saturday morning following a heart attack during a team workout at Cajun Field.

Thanks to all the coaches who put together presentations for the AFCA Virtual Convention!
Your dedication to making this a better game is appreciated.
Enjoy the Historical Sessions today and remember that you can access the Digital Library any time for videos, articles & more!
I posted a video w/ 2 QB's yesterday and ended up with a lot of DMs about it. I'll share more. Essentially it's Bash Read married with your favorite Sprint Out Concepts. Here are clips vs. Louisiana and Iowa going both ways. (We had a Righty and Lefty QB 😊)

The mesh drill will allow you to focus on the QB/RB mesh and each player’s “Reads”. Ideally you should work the Mesh Drill for 5 to 10 minutes per practice everyday.
I talked to a very well respected & knowledgeable RB coach about ball security.
He mentioned that he never has his running backs switch the ball regardless of what side of the field they are on.
1 fumble in two full season, bowl games included.
Anyone else share this ideology
Here is a collection of wide receivers, running back, and special teams drills that I've used in the past. Feel free to utilize what you feel will help your players!
I am excited to announce that the AFCA is NOW ACCEPTING applications for the exclusive 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute!

Major s/o to
@Coach_Steward
! I had a last minute drop for a RB speaker. I hit up Coach Steward days before the convention & he responded with an ENTHUSIASTIC yes. I dropped by his session & it was standing room only. Thank you my brother! This what this profession is all about!

Major shoutout to all the high school coaches grindin for their players future opportunities to play ball and extend their education!
Thankless job a lot of times, but you are appreciated. 💪 🏈
Each year I always have a good amount of coaches wanting to find an empty room during the convention so they can get on a board and talk ball.
Seeing how often this was occurring, I wanted to help facilitate that by holding 9 rooms on Tuesday from 5-9p.
One of my best friends,
@CoachLopez12
and his fiancé asked if I would wed them in Yosemite National Park!
I quickly became an ordained minister in California.
I have had the opportunity to do some cool stuff in my life, but this is one of the top things ever. Was an honor!
