A coach tonight literally ran on the field when his player batted down a ball. Grabbed the ball acted like he signed it and handed it back to the offensive player. All as he was yelling at the top of his lungs waiving a towel.. that was just act 1 of 10+. #wewillremember #comedy

I have coached kids who have refused to go home with the flu b/c they didn’t want to miss practice. I also have coached other kids who would miss practice with a hang nail, sore throat etc.. You tell me who was voted team captain unanimously by his peers? I want dogs not cats!!

Winning doesn’t make a 7 on 7 team good. A good 7 on 7 team teaches you things you can use in the fall! Ask yourself does this technique, and scheme carry over to Friday nights? If your QB stand and scans for 4 seconds waiting on someone to get open, that’s the 1st sign of BAD!

This is a bittersweet day watching it get torn up. Since 2003 this has been the field I have coached or player on. But the coach in me is excited to always have a nice lined field. It’s almost that time to start adding lots of checks in the “W” column on the new turf!

I believe it was 4 years ago when @ASUFootball was handing out offers to a group of freshman with no varsity film. I got bashed on here for saying it was bad for H.S coaches and the kids. Just curious how many of those offers are still committable??🤷🏻‍♂️

If you’re D1 talent you could play on the moon and you will be found. The real tell all for a program is what do they do for all the others? D2,D3, and NAIA schools don’t have the same resources as the D1 programs for recruiting. It’s key for H.S coaches to do their part!!

Best player and best athlete can be two completely different things. When you find a young man that’s both, you have something special! Athletes learn very quickly after freshman and JV year if you rely on just your athleticism you will struggle to play!

Coaches complaining about all their players being slept on, but don’t even have some sort of prospect packet. Transcripts, test scores, links to highlights, contact info etc.. nothing. Make it easy on the recruiters. I can see why some athletes seek outside agencies to help.

Just because they have 3,4, or 5 stars next to their name, and 5+ D1 offers doesn’t make them the most qualified for the end of the year awards. Let’s not make these H.S awards about the hype and who’s the most recruitable. Leave all that to the college coaches.

Young doesn’t mean they didn’t pay their dues. Guys are getting into coaching younger. So a lot of the time that 30 year old HC has 10 years experience. Not 10 seasons….years.

All these young coaches getting HFC jobs is crazy. It took me 18 years to get a HC gig. There used to be a time when there were 120 applicants for every job. I was rejected by schools that couldn’t win on their off week. I was told no over 100 times. The struggle was real!

D1 or nothing I see in kids now days is sickening. D2 football is the real deal with some of the best coaches and players in the country. A great HS player isn't enough for D1 it takes a rare athlete.All these boys playing tonight are good players and we're probably great in HS.
