Renewables can be deployed quickly to reduce Europe's reliance on fossil gas. The Netherlands and Spain are a case in point. In just 2 years, rapid renewables growth achieved huge falls in fossil gas. 🇳🇱-22% (-17 TWh) 🇪🇸 -17% (-15 TWh)

In Spain, electricity generation from solar and wind was greater than electricity consumption (load) from 11:00 am to 6:15 pm yesterday. Today and tomorrow there will also be times when solar and wind produce more electricity than is consumed.
