BREAKING: Members of the Trudeau family were paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by
@WEMovement
for speeches and appearances, Canadaland has learned.
Story to come.
Last night

posted to his 3.6 million followers a document containing the full names and detailed personal information of people who filed complaints against him to the Ontario College of Psychologists, regarding his use of social media. 1/3
NEW: Postmedia has given a directive for all of its papers to shift to the political right, in an unprecedented, centralized fashion.
An inside look at the conservative overhaul of Canada's biggest newspaper chain:
In a scathing decision, the National NewsMedia Council calls out Sue-Ann Levy and the Toronto Sun for "a serious breach of journalistic standards" in reporting the false claim that refugees were slaughtering goats in hotel bathrooms:
62 journalists at the Toronto Star have signed a letter to management concerning a "hateful, racist reply-all email" sent last week by columnist Rosie DiManno:
WE Charity told the CBC they "never paid an honorarium to these individuals for their involvement."
Turns out that WE entities actually paid over $350k for speeches by Margaret and Sasha Trudeau.
WE Charity has served Canadaland with a Notice of Libel, accusing us of intending to defame them in The White Saviors, a podcast we have not yet released.
"We are extremely concerned about the expected content of the podcast."
They have demanded that we withhold publication.
BREAKING: former WE Charity donor/advisory board member Reed Cowan says he has reported WE Charity for fraud with the I.R.S. and asked the R.C.M.P. to seize WE Charity documents in incendiary video.
WE plans to "return to its roots" by prioritizing its international development work.
That got us wondering: What is WE Charity actually doing around the world?
Catherine Tait, the President & CEO of CBC/RadioCanada, shared this message internally with her staff today.
It is not going over well.
We will now share some employee responses from the CBC's internal website in this thread, with names redacted.
The CBC confirms to us that the man seen in this video helping Barrie Police Officer Jason Stamp hold down skateboarder Skyler Kent is "a CBC/Radio-Canada employee and a volunteer auxiliary member of the OPP."
Faith Goldy copied and pasted the work of a prominent Toronto election lawyer. He was not happy about this, and so decided to help out her opponents pro bono:
We obtained a recording of Marc Kielburger patiently listening as a senior employee describes how he paid off Kenyan government officials and threatens to have a colleague murdered:
Jordan Peterson has had problems with the Ontario College of Psychologists before.
In 2018, Peterson threatened to sue us if we ran this story about it. We did, and he didn't.
"How can you write this and not once say the word "Black"? This message is deeply disappointing and beyond unacceptable — vague and non-specific, self-congratulatory (about journalism that has been rightly criticized!), and wildly discouraging."
New: The Rebel has lost two cases at the Ontario Court of Appeal, upholding earlier rulings that tossed out the company's lawsuits against media that covered it:
But isn't Postmedia already conservative, you may ask? Well, the company's new leadership thinks that even the National Post isn't reliably conservative enough.
"This is an extraordinarily embarrassing and empty response from the leader of a corporation that has grossly mishandled coverage of this crisis and has been complicit in upholding systemic anti-Black racism in this country for a very long time."
"Citing an unsubstantiated post from a crowdsourced platform as evidence is akin to citing a rumour. Without supporting facts around what was a potentially inflammatory report, this represents a failure of basic, widely accepted journalistic standards."
In its first year of operation, the ME to WE Foundation of Canada — a registered charity — spent 130 times more on real estate than on expenses for carrying out charitable programs:
APTN wanted tonight's debate to include an Indigenous moderator. Instead, the producers told them one of their reporters could serve as a human mic stand.
Last week, we were served with a legal notice demanding that we withhold publication of our podcast The White Saviors, which had not yet launched.
We stand by our reporting. Our series launched on Monday.
Today it is the

show on
@ApplePodcasts
And a centrist paper like the Edmonton Journal, long a thorn in the side of Alberta's Conservative parties? Postmedia removed the editor-in-chief in part because he supported carbon pricing:
"Thanks for your note, Catherine...I think we have quite a way to go to live up to our mandate as a "public" broadcaster. I believe more Black people, People of Colour and Indigenous people in positions of leadership and power at the CBC would bring about that paradigm shift."
The City of Toronto is expected to spend up to nearly $10 million over 15 years to lease and renovate a property belonging to a numbered company owned by the parents of Craig and Marc Kielburger.
"...this letter reads as congratulatory when the CBC has been called out publicly for how we have been complicit in anti-Black racism again just in these past days."
Contrary to what is suggested here by WE Charity, Canadaland has *not* been served with a defamation lawsuit by WE, despite threats from WE that they would sue us if we published what we knew about them.
If that changes, we'll let you know.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃
Thanks to Trudeau's failures, I might not be able to purchase a turkey for Thanksgiving.
What are you thankful for?

CBC has confirmed to us that on election night in Ontario, CBC TV will be broadcasting an episode of the Murdoch Mysteries, not local election coverage. They cite "competing priorities" and "commitments to our advertisers" as the reasons why.
The CBC was so concerned about reputational damage that they fired Ahmar Khan for trying to blow the whistle on systemic racism at the broadcaster.
Whoops.
Governments all over Canada keep building infrastructure that is innately harmful to Canadians and the climate. Today, Dr. Edda Bild,

BREAKING: the whistleblower website published by WE Charity's former Senior Director
@SantaiKimakeke
has been scrubbed of information and documents and replaced with a disavowal of earlier posts.
🚨NEW🚨: Following questions from Canadaland into alleged financial impropriety at
#WECharity
(Kenya), government charity regulator looking into "assets," "regulatory and governance matters" at Kielburger NGO.
FULL STORY to come.
Meanwhile, Jordan Peterson has been working on a secret project out of the fifth floor of Postmedia's offices and recently dined with the company's board of directors.
"imagine the thrill of being seen by you. i’m sure that makes everything better. i see the board of directors - and senior management - and - what they have obviously and painfully in common. this greatly undercuts your claim of solidarity..."
Excited to announce that our new French language media correspondent is the brilliant

Thanks to everyone who funded this new beat. Welcome to the team, Emilie!
“The way they treat young people,” said a former WE director who left in the last four years, “is incredibly toxic and inappropriate.”

We repeatedly pressed
@TaraRHenley
to offer specific examples of how she was stifled by the CBC’s ‘woke’ agenda, and, well… Have a listen for yourself.
And another nearby building was recently acquired by the City for $2 as part of a community-benefits arrangement with a condo developer, which had set up its own numbered company to purchase it off of WE Charity for $2.75 million.
That same numbered company was also used to purchase a different property on behalf of the ME to WE Foundation.
And a different numbered company belonging to the parents owns a different property next door to the one the City is leasing.
"There is a history of the appellants using litigation to silence critics," the judges write, in deciding to increase the cost awards The Rebel must pay to the defendants.

PREMIERING TODAY – the first two episodes of Thunder Bay, the
@CraveCanada
Original documentary series, are now available to stream.
Based on our hit podcast, Thunder Bay, the show follows Ryan McMahon as he continues telling these important stories.
But what is Postmedia's new CEO hoping to get out of all this? To lock down Canada's conservative audience, for sure. But some wonder if there might be more.
