He really was supposed to be unhappy pre-Mushroom Kingdom. Mario is known for being cheerful and optimistic. It’s surprising to see they were planning on making him miserable before the adventure.

Reasons why I think they decided not to: 1. There was no reason for him to use it. When he fought with DK they made him use the mushroom because that's what he used during training -> to show his progress. 2. They didn't want to use all the iconic power-ups in the first movie.

You feel like something's wrong with your body and at any second you're just going to have a heart attack, which freaks you out even more. Horrible experience that lasted 3 hours with oxygen. Do not recommend

@FandomDude I agree. That “Never give up” arc was a good idea, but they were already showing from the start that he doesn't give up, so it wasn't really character development. If they had gone deeper or at least kept that deleted scene in the sewers, it would've been much better.

The movie made it seem like Mario is the gamer of the two, and he’s into into sports and plumbing. Meanwhile, Luigi seems to like astronomy, biology and photography. It would be so funny if Luigi doesn't like playing as much as Mario but still is a better gamer for some reason.

I love this so much Unrelated, but I think it’s great that Luigi’s afraid of ghosts and dogs (the latter according to the movie). That’s something they could explore in a sequel or a Luisa’s Mansion movie, and he could overcome those fears like he did in the games

I'm not an expert, but in 3D animation different people work with the same models. Illumination just experimented a lot with stretching and exaggerating in this movie
