Idea! Let’s move the Royal BC Museum to Lytton. We then build a 1:1 scale model of pre fire Lytton, with needed enhancements on First Nations history. Then we let the people of Lytton live there as a “Historical Reenactment”. Or we could just rebuild Lytton.

When Clearwater incorporated, the province forgot to take ownership of Highway 5 thru town. We technically own it. @bchydro now wants us to pay for streetlights on that highway. I’m thinking we shut it down and do a street hockey tournament on hwy 5 as a fundraiser.

Great news on ambulance staffing in Clearwater! We went from barely staffing one ambulance by bringing in staff from elsewhere… to having a nearly complete team for 2 ambulances comprised of people who live in our town. Great work! 🙏 . @TroyClifford @BC_EHS @bcpoli

@keithbaldrey The BC Cancer Agency and cancer treatments/surgery run on a different system than the rest of surgeries etc. Worksafe is similar. All 5 or 6 of my cancer surgeries in hospital bypassed regular wait times because of their urgency. Cancer is life and death. Urgency is a must.

Had a call from IHA. Our ER will be down again tonight. That said, it was a good call. I’m finally hearing about efforts and changes to try and fix what is broken with the system. Fingers crossed that this is a breakthrough for IHA. Hug a healthcare worker(ask first though)!

Living in Williams Lake, I developed a bias against trailer parks. Right now, I would take 50 modular or mobile homes just to ease our housing crisis. We need homes, we need employees, we need homes for those employees. Tourism is coming back fast, and we lack staff to function.

Here's why. The staff at the hospital take your negativity personally - as a criticism of them. This includes the nurses and doctors you desperately need to retain. They, thank god, are not political animals like us. I was fortunate to have a staffer tell me this early on. /5

Today’s Smokey Shout Out goes to all the firefighters living in camps. Not only are you putting your lives in the literal line, you are surviving sleeping on the ground in tents, porta-potty’s, limited showers, etc.. Thank you for your service, apologies for your suffering.

2 years ago I was doing interviews about the gift the Guru Tegh Sikh Temple members had donated to our community. The shrinking congregation donated all the proceeds of the sale of the temple, nearly $200k. Today I am hooked up to donations. Feeling grateful.

4 people died in a 40 km stretch of Highway 5 today and another person was send to hospital in 2 separate accidents. A dog was also killed. Tragic is an understatement.

If health authority(HA) management is in defensive mode, they aren't going to act quickly or boldly. I/council switched from "I demand you fix it" to " What can we do to help this get solved". This created an atmosphere of trust. Then the HA was brave enough to try changes./7

My shorter, prettier, better half Joanna turns 39 again today! She starts up the Clearwater Farmers Market for the season tomorrow. I am a very lucky guy.
