Take-Two have gone on a rampage of Trademark Disputes, they claim that they OWN the words Rockstar, Take Two, Bully and all variants. Remember that slippery slope? They're even trying to claim
@HazelightGames
"It Takes Two" is profiting off their brand:
Rockstar Games never wanted to work on remasters of older legacy titles in-house at ANY point as certain key staff members at the time saw that this was "beneath" them as a company, it was Take-Two who pushed back in 2011 to outsource it and get the job done as cheap as possible
So the audio format of choice for the Definitive Editions is OGG-VORBIS! More interesting however, San Andreas contains all the cut music! It's just disabled by script!
Oh did I say coming soon? I got that wrong, it's OUT NOW! "Console Visuals - The Complete Edition" includes effects like Volumetric Lighting, Enhanced Bloom, Proper DoF that Scales with Res, fixed and updated Motion Blur, Reflections, Shadows & much more!
Releasing Soon, a shaders fix pack for GTA IV which restores Console Exclusive features such as Volumetric Lighting as well as enhancing and updating shaders for reflections, shadows, etc, even built in FXAA natively!
Releasing Soon, a shaders fix pack for GTA IV which restores Console Exclusive features such as Volumetric Lighting as well as enhancing and updating shaders for reflections, shadows, etc, even built in FXAA natively!
Fusion Fix 3.0 has just been released! This version includes a vast amount of rendering fixes such Glass Shards and Emissive Depth, Redone shadows to both look AND perform better, and even new features like Sun Shafts! Full change log and download here:
We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.
Thank you,
Sam Houser
Grand Theft Auto III has been FULLY reverse engineered! Introducing re3, an open source project on GitHub which fixes what was broken and can be compiled for various platforms!

I'm convinced
@RockstarGames
is just sabotaging the game at this point, this worked perfect before the latest security patch that dropped the other day.
The wait is over, my GTA IV Vehicle Remaster Pack hits version 2.0, aka the 15th Anniversary Edition, featuring remastered textures for ALL vehicles across IV/TLAD/TBOGT:
Reminder that the Xbox Series X already runs this game in 4k/30fps with 2xMSAA and 16xAF, so if they're charging people for this it needs some serious effort and proper treatment.
Rockstar's new site update, live an hour ago, added a new reference within the games list.
"Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver)"
Codename:
- RDR1RSP (RDR1 Remaster SP?)
New logo below

OK, Rockstar come on, there's a PC version isn't there? On the official website all the new screenshots are in 4K, that's something the Switch and Base PS4 can't do, unless these are from a PS4 Pro or PS5 patched version.
The fantastic RoSa (Retexture of San Andreas) Evolved has been updated AND ported to SA Definitive Edition, this project has a dedicated team seeking out the original source textures/assets or faithfully recreating where needed:
I'm sorry but this interview feels like fluff, they express how challenging and difficult it would've been to track down original textures and SFX but the modding community has been doing that for years and have covered a lot, BUT WAIT, YOU DON'T WANT TO WORK WITH US
Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15.
Learn how to transfer Story Mode progress now, plus first details on GTA Online profile migration, pre-load timing, and more:
It's extremely likely that The Definitive Editions of the GTA Trilogy will do all they can to block modding support, plus these versions of the games are not supported by any mods out there. It is your LAST CHANCE to buy the originals on Steam:
There's been another release of the stolen GTAV files from the hack and this one mainly seems to be about maps, including high res renders, real life names noted for areas and early street names which were changed by the final release.
Fusion Fix v1.89 has been released and with it comes a load of fixes that the GTA4 community has waited for since the initial PC release! To start off, the infamous Z-Fighting issue has been fixed!
In this thread I'll be noting some of the menu options...
I also forgot to mention one of the nice little features of the latest Fusion Fix 1.52 update, some of the INI options are now available as in-game toggles!
Vice City is a VERY interesting choice, the stations have been split up at key points to allow tracks to be dropped in or out denoted by track number, for example, ALL of Flash FM is here except for Track 03, Billie Jean. (yes even Running With the Night)
It's Halloween and we have a spooky treat for all GTA IV players that use Fusion Fix, no tricks here, Fusion Fix 2.0 has been released with a whole heap of changes, fixes and additions including Shadow Options such as PCSS, Bloom control, and much more!
Take-Two and Rockstar have broken their promise to the modding community after the events of OpenIV. Back then they openly stated that modding single player was fine and modding non-RAGE titles was ok. In the past week Take-Two have DMCA spammed many websites hosting 3D era mods.
Congratulations to Rockstar Games for doing a QoL update to GTA Online with things they should've fixed years ago, better late than never. Seriously though jogging inside buildings shouldn't have taken a nine year wait!
To round off the year for GTA IV modding (and what a busy one it has been) Fusion Fix has now been updated to version 2.3 which focuses on small fixes, better features for 21:9, an FOV slider (experimental) and includes a toggle for 7 controller options:
Coming on the 29th of October (TBOGT's anniversary) will be my next mod, the High Resolution Miscellaneous texture pack. This mod fixes and increases the resolution for objects in areas that most HD map packs ignore, including things like minigames, cutscene props and more...
Here's GTA IV running with Nvidia's DLDSR (rendering at 1620p downsampling to 1080p), it looks better in motion as it's doing edge detection. The results are decent, at last after a decade plus GTA IV has decent AA that doesn't require modding! :P
Someone brought this to my attention, but it turns out even the Chatterbox logo in GTA3 DE is wrong! Notice the spelling mistake? ChatterROX-FM instead of ChatterBOX-FM. Anyway my fixed version that toom less than two minutes is on the right.
Version 1.9 of the GTA IV "Various Fixes" mod has just been released, this version contains multiple small tweaks and even more fixes to correct any map issues and texture quality issues across all versions of GTA4, TLAD and TBOGT by community members:
For real this time, the last Fusion Fix release of the year! V2.4 is now out which adds in a few more AA options such as SMAA and SSAA 2x, an option for the Steam Controller has also been added and hopefully a bunch of crashes have been fixed for people!
GTA used to be about holding up a mirror to real life and parodying it. Now GTA Online is about promoting real life DJ's, endorsing micro transactions and now pushing real life clothing brands. And people act like it's the same Rockstar.
One of the things we forgot to add to the changelog for Fusion Fix 3.0 was that we've also fixed the mobile phone scaling at resolutions higher than 720p, this now matches how it's done on GTAV PC/PS4/XB1, a small fix really:
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered is excellent on all platforms.
@dark1x
goes back to the trilogy's roots, stacks up the new versions against the old and examines the game running on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC/Steam Deck:
The boxart for GTA IV CE always felt slapped together and it certainly did not fit in with the other GTA boxart on Steam, so I took some time to splice together a version that uses art from both IV & EFLC whilst also using the final logo that's used on Steam and Rockstar's site.
This was the start of their relationship with War Drum Games (now known as Grove Street Games), who even back then had to work off the PC versions and had little help from Rockstar, with one key person at the studio mentioning how difficult certain key people at Rockstar were...
10 years ago Rockstar Games released their last GTA game to date, a game which has had more release dates than most games out there but the 17th of September 2013 is the original! Enjoy your treats in GTA Online, it's all you're getting.
But the "fact" is right now, Rockstar do NOT want to work on their older games, the GTA Trilogy was the certification stamp, they knew it was bad, but it's now something to cite whenever people ask them about GTA4, RDR1, Midnight Club, Bully, etc.
"Rockstar would never let a third party studio handle RAGE, so it has to be in-house!"
Well then, that's aged well, though I'm interested to see an outside studio work on it but it is fair to say Double Eleven has a lot of ex Rockstar Leeds folks.
Rockstar Games have all these studios, MORE studios than they had during the Golden Era, but somehow remain awkwardly handled ever since they were all merged as "Rockstar Studios" and lost their unique identity and specific studio projects.
Out now for testing is the Centered Vehicle Cam by _AG, this makes the car driving camera more in-line with the other games in the series instead of the driver side shifted view that GTA IV opted for:
T2 DMCA'ed another website. At this time .
They insisted to remove "The Lost And Damned Unlocked", which was downloaded 7.436 times since 16.02.2009. The mod enabled hidden TLaD content in GTA IV. Damage was done, I guess.
@videotech_
It sucks for the devs but the company itself will be fine with the billions they have in reserve and Take-Two's legal team and private investigators ready to be unleashed.
One of the biggest downgrades of GTA IV's Complete Edition is the removed songs. This prevents some people from using this version BUT Tomasak has updated his Radio Downgrader to work with the new Fusion Fix mod loading method! Restoring all the songs!:
It's clear why they killed the modding community now, I'm both sad and disappointed at how these have turned out but alas it's cemented modern day Rockstar. Between these and E&E I'm not seeing the same studio that used to push boundaries. Whatever, it will sell I guess.
Now apparently we hear that the future of GTA IV and RDR1 were riding on the success of these ports BUT what does that tell us? Rockstar were NOT going to be working on these in-house. Rockstar KNEW the history of GSG, KNEW how difficult it was working together between 2011/2016
Rockstar Games have had MULTIPLE points in their history to set up a side studio or in-house branch to maintain Legacy titles in ways that a lot of other games developers have done so, but time and time again they refuse to do so and each time it's bit them in the ass.
Things were that bad, War Drum actually DECLINED to work on LCS Mobile citing issues with Rockstar and treatment. LCS Mobile was then handled by Lucid Games, who were later found out to be using textures and assets from Mods and other video games...
The release of Max Payne Mobile, followed shortly by GTA3 10th Anniversary and then Vice City 10th Anniversary seemed initially well despite the lack of support, however things changed with the next title, the infamous San Andreas "Remaster"...
Fusion Fix for GTA IV CE has been updated! It now includes the shader fixes (can be used with Console Visuals) but let's talk about the big thing here, we've now got a modloader for GTA IV! You'll never have to touch the original files again!
This was known to be a rough experience and then when War Drum was requested to also work on ports for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 they wern't given any extra time or help to knock these out, we all know how this game turned out...
Even to this day Rockstar are sitting on top of a boat load of cancelled games and Umming and Aaahing about if RDR2 should get a patch or new version, or what to do in GTAO, etc, when a Legacy studio could've done that work in terms of patching RDR2, etc.
The fact is, Rockstar declined once again to work on this in-house, and since Take-Two wanted to cheap out we got to see War Drum Studios brought back in, now known as Grove Street Games, being cited for their previous work on the Mobile games and thus having knowledge of them...
I cannot stress how much I loved this boxart design for GPUs, 3dfx knocked it out the park, it was minimal, unique, eye catching and most important when you saw a box like this you knew the brand and what was in it. Never been topped IMO.
time for DONGLES
New LGR about the Voodoo3 3500 TV, which upon launch in 1999 was one of the best GPUs around and the fastest V3 from 3dfx! But its main appeal is its TV and FM radio tuning and video capture abilities, all thanks to its *big long dongle*
And yet STILL put those two games up as a gamble, they never wanted to work on them anyway, they knew they were sending the GTA Trilogy out to be ripped to shreds and now we know why as they could use this as an excuse to NOT work on GTA IV and RDR1 because...
there is no way in hell those two games could suffer the same treatment as the GTA Trilogy and come out looking good or in any way positive if they were given the same work...
B-b-but it's not Rockstar, it's all Take-Two's fault, Rockstar have no say in it /s
Once again, Mafia and Bioshock are also under Take-Two and they treat their community differently.
Introducing GTA+ for GTA Online.
A new membership program exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — providing easy access to a range of valuable benefits for both new and long-standing players on the latest generation consoles.
Launching March 29:
Lucid Games were not invited to work on any further titles. After a bit of a break, as we were all expecting VCS Mobile, we instead got a surprise announcement of Bully Anniversary Edition being handled once again by War Drum Studios...
The Higher Resolution Miscellaneous Pack for GTA IV is now out! Feature higher res textures for a variety of things like cutscene props, minigames, procedural objects, generic props, interiors and more!
Now we're getting into the modern mess since all the rumours state Rockstar were waiting on the feedback of the GTA Trilogy before they decided to go ahead with ports of RDR1 and GTA IV...
@ObbeVermeij
Recently I was able to find out why there's no color in glass shards in GTA IV: in one of the functions, the switch statement uses veh_glass_clear/veh_glass_clear/veh_glass_clear strings instead of veh_glass_clear/veh_glass_red/veh_glass_amber. Probably an oversight.
This port was middling at best but it was not their worst work, however due to the decline in sales (LCS Mobile and Bully Anniversary being the worst selling thus far), Take-Two and Rockstar decidied to not go ahead with anymore mobile ports...
Summary:
- No PS5 profile (PS5 runs exactly the same as PS4 Pro)
- Locked 30fps with no pacing issues (except for some cutscene camera animations)
- 1080p on PS4, 2160p on PS4 Pro
- FSR 2.2 isn't used for upscaling but instead used to provide a layer of AA
- Shadow Res Increased
Red Dead Redemption tested on PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro and PS5 under backwards compatibility. FSR2 is a genuinely impressive upgrade - but this release could have been so much more. Switch review coming soon:
My producer forced me to play this game and it was terrible woke trash, how dare this game criticise America and our great government, it even has an entire radio station dedicated to insulting us red blooded Republicans! I will be posting my 1 hour review tomorrow!
It's the end of 2023 and it's been a big one in the GTA Modding scene due to it being GTA IV's 15th Anniversary, so I'm just going to quickly look back at the big stuff I've released, starting with my Higher Resolution Vehicle Textures pack:
This file arrangement for RDR on Switch (and assumingly PS4) looks a LOT better than the PS3/360 original which was all over the place, curious to dive into these and see what's there.
One of the first mods converted over is of course my High Resolution Vehicle Pack, if you have the latest version of Fusion Fix and want to install this then simply grab the "Complete Edition Vehicle Pack" and extract the folder to your "update" folder:
So to talk about re3 and reVC, the cat is out of the bag now anyway, we were hoping to keep things quiet but with gaming websites posting about the one successful counter it has ruined our game plan. The team was getting legal advice in private and everyone has been putting...
It's the 29th of April, it's another Grand Theft Auto IV Anniversary! Now on its 16th year since the original release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Noticed a recent trend of GTA "fans" going around to other gaming communities like Yakuza, Cyberpunk, etc and pretty much bragging and boasting about how much better GTA is whilst saying other franchises are "shit" and "not worth playing". Don't do this, you look like twats.
