Is part of our problem that Neil Ferguson is qualified as a physicist and Devi Sridhar had 2 years of medical training before writing a dissertation on malnutrition, while Sweden's response is dictated by actual trained epidemiologists?

After 3 isolations in autumn term, and now facing schools closed until Easter, my kids will have had only 1 month of school in the past year. A disgrace that reopening at half-term isn't a given, particularly with the vaccine programme for the elderly now almost complete.

We need to get our children learning again - with clarity from @educationgovuk and an education routemap out of the coronavirus. The engine of Government should be directed towards opening our schools. We face an epidemic of educational poverty and mental health otherwise.

If I was over 80, I would want the right to decide my own level of risk to see my grandchildren; and I expect that calculation would be different based on my health at the time.

99.5% of over 80s have not died with Covid. 99.9% of over 80s with no serious health condition have not died with Covid. Should they not be allowed to decide for themselves how to live and who to hug?
