@logicalkitty
this is what I keep thinking!! Did they have a back up plan if the staff actually kicked them out?? (I doubt it, I suspect they just expected it to go their way)
"There was an idea at one moment that we may have to ask the public to exterminate all the cats in Britain."
Former Health Minister Lord Bethell discusses the early government response to the Covid pandemic.
Absolutely obsessed with this person asking the british broadcasting corporation for help with the Elizabeth line, then asking for a personal police escort, then whining about not being allowed to walk on the tracks and then posting a picture of their piss to BBC

have a recommended time to add to a journey to account for delays? From what I can see, as long as Sha was on track to arrive at Heathrow at the usual recommended 3 hours before flight departure, you’ll pay out.
£24k after tax is ~£19k. Average rent for a one bed in London is £1500. £24k salary leaves you with just over £1000 for food, student loans, transport, bills, and other expenses! So generous!
Why does no one talk about the second puberty women go through aged 18-25 when they suddenly gain loads of weight and curves?? It's never talked about and all my friends (and me!!) freaked when they suddenly gained several stone
Can’t deal with people calling Miles Routledge ‘based’ or ‘a legend’ - rescuing him means someone else can’t be, whether that’s an Afghan refugee or a British employee or journalist
I’m currently in an (online) stats exam but I have to interrupt to laugh at this
This is not adhd. This is called having a functioning brain that has thoughts.

There also IS something objectively wrong about not being willing to share a space with a certain demographic - it’s this mindset that leads to people being dehumanised (and this happens to infants all the time!!)
Once again I am begging the commenters to realise that ‘not guilty’ does not mean ‘innocent’. It means insufficient evidence of guilt beyond reasonable doubt

Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been found not guilty of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, while jurors could not reach verdicts on one count of rape and one of attempted rape, following a six-month trial at Chester Crown Court
The year is 2050. An elderly man walks laps in his garden.
No one remembers how this tradition started, but each year a centenarian is chosen to perform this ritual.
'Please, can I stop? Some water?' he begs his carers.
He cannot stop. He must keep walking to fund Our NHS.
A lot of this campaign is relying on and perpetuating the myth that state pensions aren’t a benefit and that individuals pay into them directly (so are entitled to them and can claim it’s been ‘stolen’). The replies to this are a pretty clear demonstration of that
'Women who have good jobs, generous pensions... they don't need this money. They're angry, they're hurt but they're not suffering'

says WASPI women should've pursued 'targeted support' from the government

A majority of American dog owners are now expressing “concerns” about vaccinating their dogs— including for rabies— following MAGA conspiracies about COVID.
Nearly 40% were baselessly concerned that vaccines could cause their dog to develop autism.

Three things have possibly deterred further riots:
- huge police presence
- swift justice delivered with hefty sentences handed out today
- a loss of momentum after the weekend, with no one event ever really topping a few hundred people, as shocking as some scenes were
I have many thoughts on Archie Battersbee’s case that are very hard to express and still sound kind because the facts are so brutal but god some of the misinformation I see is so bad
I’m generally quite suspicious of anyone who says they *enjoyed* lockdown! It was horrifically scary and everything was uncertain! How bad was your life before that mass illness and death was an improvement!
I have deleted my tweets about just how deeply traumatic I found lockdown because somehow every time I post about that I get people saying "haha I made bread and I didn't have to go to the pub! great!" and I don't care about that, don't tell me about it
@EmmaSzewczak
I know this probably isn’t 100% serious but the vast majority of artists only write about their own life, singing is pretty commonly storytelling about your life! But also yes, most of folklore and evermore are fictional stories or about other people’s experiences!
Balls still exist, you’re just not aristocratic enough to go to them and certainly wouldn’t have been 200 years ago. Stop fetishising this when you would have been poor, working 20 hour days, and dying in your 40s 🙂

Omg my favourite one is the one where the boyfriend let the girlfriend live with him rent-free on the condition that she bought the lottery tickets every week - then she won and DUMPED HIM AND RAN WITH THE MONEY
Finally, the Christian Legal Centre are a disgusting organisation that feeds on the grief and false hope and aren’t qualified to give legal advice at all anyway
